What to buy and not buy in July 2023

American-Flag-Ga424A9687_640It’s hard to believe that the July Fourth sales are coming up. It seems like the Memorial Day sales were just yesterday.

July Fourth is a huge shopping holiday in the United States and marks the middle of summer. Look for the sales to begin far in advance of July Fourth.

DealNews.com offers these tips for the July sales:

Electronics

Get up to 70 percent off on electronics on a wide variety of electronics such as photography items, SSDs, monitors, laptops, TVs, phones, smart devices, and other items.

Summer clothing

Clothing sales make up a large part of the July 4th sales every year so look for deals up to 90 percent off. Early sales may feature more middle-of-the-road discounts, with  20 to 50 percent off.

Patio

Patio furniture deals are worth checking out. August sale prices may be better, but if you buy now, you’ll still have plenty of warm weather left to enjoy using your new purchases this summer. Check also for savings on grills.

Outdoor gear

Save up to 79 percent on hiking accessories, comfortable clothing for the outdoors, or sporting goods.

Major appliances

Check prices at retailers such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Best Buy; manufacturers; and warehouse clubs such as Sam’s Club and Costco.

Mattresses

Compare prices at Home Depot as well as department stores such as Macy’s and JCPenney.

As for what to skip in July, NerdWallet.com suggests indoor furniture and lawn mowers.

Have fun shopping in addition to picnicking, barbecues, and fireworks.
