Your inbox is full and your schedules are fuller so I’ll keep this short. May you find a nap or a visualization during the holiday season. You can take a break.

What I Did to Pause:

  1. I had a rare operation on December 4. My tailbone is gone- Cue rest, rest rest on my side like a harbor seal or a 90s supermodel (see image below). One new addition to my pausing is seeing friends when they drop off meals or pick up my kids to drive them to a holiday function.

  2. My hubs and I swapped home offices, which was long overdue. He needed more space and lightstreams of the japanese maple his Dad got us. The small move, done while I rested, forced me to slowly go through items that I’d collected from The 24 Oracle Deck, The Clarity Map, clients & Reiki and writing and essential oils. I rearranged, gave many duplicates samples to other coaches and went through my journals, while looking like a seal (see image below).

  3. Bad Sisters on Apple+ Trust me and watch it. You have to really listen as their accents are hard to follow, but I watched to see Bono’s offspring, Eve Hewson, but fell in love with the show’s character’s.

  4. I am listening to Noah Khan Radio in my kitchen ceiling speakers. Admittedly we’ve always had speakers in our kitchen but using them feels very adult.

I haven’t been able to fall asleep lately (see #1) so my reading list is on fire. Husbands and Lovers was a fun twisty road of modern day and historical fiction. I loved the back and forth. Jared Matthew Weiss’ book was recommended to me by his wife, Human Design Expert, Erin Claire Jones. I am invested because it’s research based. Yes, please.

Pausing through Traditions:

  • Lights: I live in the Christmas City, Bethlehem PA. We have so many light spectalars it is hard to be grinchy. I’ll be sending my kids out with family this year but driving around to all of the houses light up brings joy.

  • Gathering: I’ve only been at one “favorite things” party but I will be back next year. Jon’s been going stag to charitable events, too. I look forward to annual traditions with my local

    community.

Rituals: From HELLO, GOODBYE. Winter solstice season shift with a candle, a cloth and herbs and essential oils. I’l be back with the results, focused on what I need to replenish for myself in the dark of winter

Year End Big Pauses:

  • Strategy: I don’t trust big businesses, or little ones, who don’t have a strategy. At GE we did 1-3-5 year planning. I’m focused on 1Q25 and a full year look at launches next year for my holistic career Coaching business.

  • Giving back in 2025: I’m looking for a way to join a board or help in a more commited way. I’m ready to commit!

  • Vactions in 2025: Traditions are my quality over quantity part of life. It brings me joy to structure life. Well, vacations aren’t going to plan themselves and the girls are growing up so fast. We are likely doing a NorthEast swing in June instead of out West. Block Island and Nantucket are top of our list!

Lynn Mull Holistic Career Coach & Author

Career Coach | Author | WellNess Advisor | Reiki Master
I offer Clarity through Reiki healing sessions, and Holistic Career Coaching and Facilitating Teams to professional wellness. I use various tools and methods to speak, write, and provide 1.1 counsel to move out of the stuck into the actions that help you or your teams reach their goals.I found my way because I had to create it.
As a working parent and a sandwich caregiver in my early 30s, I understand the pressures to keep going, provide for my family and prioritize everyone else’s wellbeing.

I looked in many corners and could not find one coach to break into my inner blockages and move my career until Reiki and a Career Coach got me there. We can be all the things to everyone, but first, we must get aligned and intuitively move forward for our own .
