BEAUTY
This Summer I very much enjoyed using Eric Maisel & Lynda Monk’s book ” Affirmations for self-love” – a motivational Journal with Prompts for Self-Worth, Self-Acceptance, & Positive Self-Talk – for some introspection and it was an insightful journey. I very much recommend it to all!
I just randomly opened the book at at page and got to it.
Quote: ” You can take no credit for beauty at sixteen. But if you are beautiful at sixty, it will be your soul’s own doing” – Marie Stopes
Affirmation: ” I am beautiful inside and out”
Writing Prompt: To me, beauty means….
My take on this:
Light and radiance. Smiles and laughter.
A certain charisma, that of a wise woman.
Beauty at 57 (my age), means accepting oneself with gratitude. The whole self without focusing on the wrinkles, the saggy skin, the extra kilos, the bat wings… Sitting at the beach here today I struggle not to, yet I wish to stop.
To focus instead on my energy and life spirit, my twinkly eyes, my quick smile and outbursts of laughter.
Beauty is love and that includes self-love, self-acceptance. The deep gratitude for all that I still am and can do.
Beauty means fully being, self-expression, true embodiment in all our glory, including our imperfections.
It means the absence of judgement, of comparison, be it with others or with our younger self.
Beauty is fully releasing our inner light, unashamedly ourself.
