Daily Looks: Week Ending 10.4.24
Well, we’ve broken heat records for October so you might think you’re looking at July or August’s outfits. You’re not. This is October in the desert.
I think you would enjoy it if you signed up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.
Saturday
We were going to a celebration of life event today, and I thought this dress from my most recent Your Revolving Closet was perfect. It’s a great color for fall, but it’s still lightweight enough for our weather.
There are so many ways I could accessorize it. I was thinking of putting a decorative pin/magnet at the knot at the side waist, but I decided on this hearts necklace instead.
The necklace is a tad long worn the normal way, so I wrapped it around my neck and pulled the hearts through the chain as I’ve shown in this video.
On top of that, I didn’t want it to move around or choke me, so I used a magnet to keep it in place.
This heart necklace is from Just Be Youtiful. Appropriate for a celebration of life, right?
My sandals are even more on sale now. While you might not have much time to wear them this season, they will still be perfect for next spring and summer.
Sunday
Isn’t this the cutest dress? I found it at the sidewalk sale at Just Be Youtiful. What you don’t notice is when I took the side seams in, the thread caused it to ruche up. At first, I kept breaking the thread by pulling it tight.
Until I realized I could push all of the ruched parts together in the middle at the waist. (If you get my emails, I showcased how it looked)
I started off with the bright pink sandals, a beret, and lipstick. But I wanted another color for my other accessories. That’s where the turquoise comes in.
You can see the blue with my earrings, glasses, the pin at my waist (very subtle), and in my bracelet.
Monday
Today was a celebration of life event for our neighbor. Because he was a “MacGyver” type of guy, I wanted to wear something I created to the program.
This top was originally a dress, transformed into a kimono, and now into a top. It’s a long story, that I shared in Thursday’s email.
But I loved the material and just couldn’t let it go to waste. And I’m SUPER DUPER excited about how it turned out. I know I’ll be wearing it tons now.
The pants are a pair of satin track pants from Old Navy, that I wore on our cruise last year. Even though the top is shorter in front, it still needed to be tucked in. But luckily with the slits on the side, it allows the longer back to stick out.
I added a bling pin at my waist and clear earrings.
These heels are from my working days over 12 years ago. I loved Payless when they collaborated with other designers.
Tuesday
Today is Tai Chi and while it’s still super hot outside, the room is chilly and since we don’t work up a sweat, I wore this lightweight sweatshirt top that I found for $1 thrifting.
Heck, you can see my tan cami underneath which will be exposed when I take off the peach top after class.
The shorts I’ve had for ages and even used in my first color recipe concept.
I accessorized with sparkly earrings that used to be my Aunt Nancy’s clip-on earrings which I made into posts.
My sneakers are from years ago, Jambu’s collection, and I even wore them with my pearl-accented sheer socks.
Can you see the bling on the sides of my glasses? Those are charms that magnetize to my Pair Eyeglasses.
Wednesday
We were going to my mom’s to move some things around for her clothes and closet area. Because of that, I stayed in my dog-walking outfit (and just added a necklace and earrings).
My sneakers are off because I decided to wash them after our walk and they were still wet when I took the photo.
BUT, if you haven’t tried hands-free sneakers yet, then you’re missing out. The convenience is seriously so good. Orthofeet isn’t the only brand that has this feature, but I will say I love Orthofeet’s comfort. Hopefully, I’m going to try out the Drew Shoes hand-free sneakers soon, and I can compare them to each other.
This skort company is wonderful for women our age because they have longer versions. They have 17″, 19″ and even skirted leggings.
Of course, I’m wearing my Sheec socks (an older version because all of my mesh ones are in the dirty laundry).
Thursday
I stood sideways so you could see the amazing heels on these sandals. They were thrifted of course, and not only are they beautiful, they have a velcro strap around the ankle. Just like the DIY I came up with years ago.
But onto the rest of the outfit.
This dress was in my Your Revolving Closet box but I wanted to make it seem more fallish.
That’s why I added the brown houndstooth vest that my mom made years and years ago.
I added whimsical earrings, a wood bracelet, and my Caddis glasses for my personal twist to this look.
Thank you
