Daily Looks: Week Ending 10.11.24

Another fabulous week is coming to you from Hotzona. Not that I’m complaining…I’d rather still be able to have bare legs, than thinking about the cold and snow.
I was still wearing many bright colors this week, so by the end, I tried to tone it down a tidge. But my brain appreciates bright colors no matter the time of year.

I think you would enjoy it if you signed up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.

Saturday

Top Shirt: Pol-Just Be Youtiful~~Skirt: Abercrombie & Fitch-thrifted ~~Sandals: Dakota Chase-Steinmart

I’m just like everyone, in that I tend to buy the same things over and over because that’s what I like. Case in point, this sleeveless top is super duper similar in its print to the long sleeve top. Sure the top top has more pink to it, but I bet most people from afar wouldn’t even notice.
And even if they did, it’s cool.

Because the top top is very flowy and long, but not long enough to be worn alone, I wore it with this burgundy mini skirt (worn years ago with a vest that I knitted for Rob).

For those of you who put your noses up at pairing burgundy with orange (Mother), I think this proves that they can look fabulous together.

I was considering shortening the long top…we will see.

The orange sandals are a pair that Lesley bought me after I coveted hers. And I’m wearing my gold bead statement earrings, with my unique orange eyeglasses and pink headband.

Sunday

Dress: Skies are Blue-Your Revolving Closet~~Shoes: Walmart

It’s quite comical to see how short the dress is on the model vs me. It’s one reason I try to stick to minis and midis when adding skirts and dresses to my closet in Your Revolving Closet.

But aren’t the colors of this dress incredible?? And to think I had NOT ONE piece of bright pink in my closet when I was working. It goes to show how we can all evolve in our style.

Normally, I’d wear heels, but we are going to the symphony, and many times there’s a ton of walking from where we park to the building (usually because we still aren’t very familiar with the best way to get around downtown, LOL).

The shoes are ones that I found for a steal on Walmart’s website. They aren’t available now but there are some similar in other colors.
I am wearing my Sheec socks with them so the shoes don’t feel like they are sticking to my feet.

I accessorized with pearl earrings and added a pearl clip-on earring to the front of the dress.

Monday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 10.11.24 &Raquo; Mon
Skirt: Steve Madden-Your Revolving Closet~~Top: Paper Moon- Your Revolving Closet~~Sandals: Cambiami

Both the skirt and top came in my recent Your Revolving Closet box and while I’m sure most people wouldn’t pair them together, I thought they worked swimmingly. Seems like a common theme so far this week, so I’ll have to pull in some other colors for the next couple of days.

The top is asymmetrical at the hem and while that makes it a tad short on the one side, since my skin color is close to the skirt color, you can’t tell.

I wore my tan sandals with interchangeable straps.

But my favorite part is the necklace. I saw this trick on Pinterest and had to reproduce it. It’s a bunch of brooches pinned to a chain necklace. You can see it up close in the title photo.

Insider tip: One trick for keeping the brooches from flipping around is to use a clear elastic around each of them. It will help hold that brooch to the chain so the pin doesn’t turn or flip.

Tuesday

Pants: Peach c/o~~Top: I knit it~~Sneakers: Cariuma

Tai Chi this morning, and when I arrived home, I switched to shorts. While these joggers are lightweight, it’s amazing how they can keep you warm.

I just finished knitting this laceweight top. The pattern came from a site recommended to me by a reader. It’s called Yarnz2go and this is the side aways top. If you sign up for her email, she has free patterns available weekly.
It was an easy, fun pattern, and I’m even making another one since it’s perfect for our hot summers.

The sneakers are another Cariuma pair. I just can’t resist when they send out an email with $30 off. Even though I don’t wear black that much, these floral sneakers tickled my fancy.

Insider tip: Cariuma is known for its eco-friendly practices which are truly amazing if what they say is true. And the canvas sneakers are reasonably priced considering what you can pay with other brands. The cork insole makes them comfy, but I have learned that I need to size up a half size for them to feel good on my feet.
I would not recommend these for women with wider feet.

Wednesday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 10.11.24 &Raquo; Wed 1
Shorts: Shopbop~~Jacket: Banana Republic~~Shoes: Ros (formerly Walking Cradles)

I was off to a doctor’s appointment today. It’s amazing because all the women working at the office compliment me on my looks when I go. And they ask me where I’m going afterward since I’m so dressed up.

The good thing about other people dressing shabbily at these appointments is that I stand out.

You might recognize the print of the top from Sunday. In my Your Revolving Closet, there was both the dress and top with the same print. And I love them both.

I take a blazer for inside offices and stores for the AC, and these velvet shorts are fun because of the texture.

The shoes don’t match, but I think they are a nice color option. Darker for the fall season and a beautiful shape. I wore these shoes years ago for a Thanksgiving look. While the style isn’t available anymore, Ros has some beautiful options that are similar. It’s the comfort of the tiny pillows that make them easy to wear.

Thursday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 10.11.24 &Raquo; Thurs 1
Skirt: Zennana~~Vest: Pols-Just Be Youtiful~~Shoes: Banana Republic Factory

Never let anyone tell you you can’t mix ruffles and other styles. I wasn’t sure how this would look with the ruffle cami and the blue print vest, but it seems like the perfect combination. It’s too bad the cami will be going back to Your Revolving Closet soon. But heck, now I know to look for something similar while thrifting.

Do you recognize the vest? Lesley has one and wore it recently and I loved it so much that I purchased one from Just Be Youtiful also.

Originally I was going to wear it with a similar skirt in orange but I figured I would go more muted for fall with this olive green one.

The gold Mary Janes are still available and I have to admit that they are more comfy than I thought they’d be. They don’t have arch support, but I just add my Soul Insoles to them, and they go with everything.

Insider tip: The nice thing is the Souls Insoles transfer from shoe to shoe so I can use them for many different footwear

I don’t have many accessories because we will hit the thrift store today, and I like to be minimal on those days. But my butterfly turquoise earrings are cute, eh?

Friday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 10.11.24 &Raquo; Friday
Dress: Pink Coconut-Just Be Youtiful~~Sneakers: GB-Goodwill

This is a dress I picked up at Just Be Youtiful at the sidewalk sale. The print reminds me of the house dresses that my grandma always wore.

I used a scarf clip at the side waist to pull it in, but because the material is smooth and silky, I had to use a clear elastic over top to make it stay put.

Then, I wore my new sneakers that I thrifted yesterday, as well as my orange beret to hide my hair. A black-and-white hair ribbon is in the ponytail, along with my statement silver earrings.

FYI, I am going to do something with these sleeves. Either cut them off or sew them together so they don’t flop around.

Thank you
