5 Year Favorite For Where Bloggers Live
It’s the 5-year anniversary of our monthly posting with the group Where Bloggers Live. Who knew we could find so many fun and interesting things to share with you all?
For this celebration, we were asked to share our favorite post. Post? How do I pick just one out of the 58 I’ve published?
Thus I’m sharing 3 of my favorites.
Quote of the day: “It’s not that happiness makes us grateful, but gratefulness makes us happy.” Anonymous
Of course, you can’t talk about this Where Bloggers Live group without mentioning the mastermind behind it, Bettye.
This woman not only keeps us in line but comes up with unique and introspective ideas.
AND she’s living in Korea at the moment. Talk about adventuresome.
Granted, sometimes, I play the rebel and take the prompt on an entirely different highway than originally imagined. But that’s the fun of these groups. You get to put your own spin on an idea.
Insider tip: That’s life in a nutshell. We all put our own unique spin on how we live.
We have talked about the insides, outsides, and different rooms where we physically live, but on top of that, we’ve explored many other types of prompts.
A dozen or so are listed at the end of this article, but if you are ever looking for all of my older posts in an organized fashion (and I say that with a bit of sarcasm), you can find them in the tab Categories on my home page.
In no particular order, here are 3 of my absolute favorite posts put together only because of this amazing Where Bloggers Live group.
1-Inside Our Home
First and foremost is our first ever Where Bloggers Live episode.
Why?
- One, because it was the first one, and it was fun to showcase where Rob and I lived.
- Granted, the place looked nice because we had just moved to AZ 2 months before the article. So there was not as much clutter as when we sold it.
- I LOVE to look back at old photos of how our place was decorated. It’s fun to see if we still have the pieces and how we rearranged things over the years. And by “we”, I mean me.
- This group was the original members. 5 of us are still with the group, but Lisa and Julia aren’t blogging anymore which is why we now have Sally and Leslie.
Insider detail: These are photos from our previous house in Sun City. We moved under a year ago so we could have a fenced backyard for Piper. We are 10 minutes north of our previous place.
I have given a tour of the new place if you are interested. You’ll notice most of the furniture is the same.
2-Welcome to Sun City
Another fave is about our retirement community.
We weren’t planning on moving to a Retirement community. It was accidental when we chose the house that we preferred.
Yet this place has so much history, and we’ve fallen in love with the area.
I love it so much that I’ve written 3 other articles about Sun City and its quirks.
You may wonder why I’m showing a garbage can. This type is one that I’ve never seen anywhere else.
3-Favorite Books
Third I’d have to call out the article about my favorite books. I liked this idea so much that I’ve written a few other articles about books.
- Favorite books on aging
- Estrogen Matters review with biological insider thoughts
When I wrote this article, I included a couple of books from my childhood that I would still call meaningful.
Back when I read mainly fiction.
Now that I’m retired and don’t have to read dental journals and studies all of the time, I’ve been including more non-fiction in my repertoire.
Insider tip: We tend to read the same types of books over and over. Very similar to the outfits we put together. I have found that being in a book club (feel free to join the Forever Fierce online book club that I belong to) pushes us to read books we may not have considered. Like the 2 below which were very powerful.
Where Bloggers Live
What is Where Bloggers Live? It’s kind of like HGTV’s “Celebrities at Home,” but…Bloggers! Who doesn’t like to peek behind the scenes and hear all about the personal backstories and interesting details?
FYI, we don’t all post at the same time since we all have different schedules and live in different parts of the country.
