SuperCrowd Social Impact Offerings of the Week:
Green Compass is raising funds on Raise Green. The clean tech company develops, finances, and originates energy and water solutions that generate environmental credits and operational savings for commercial and multifamily buildings. Green Compass designs, builds, and operates nature-based solutions in Washington, DC’s priority MS4 sewer system, maintaining 12-year project agreements to generate Stormwater Retention Credits (SRCs) and utility savings for clients.
Founded by Nicole Whalen, Green Compass differentiates itself by offering tailored green building services, optimizing both energy and water resources, and utilizing local incentives and contracts to reduce financial barriers. The company earns revenue through sales of SRCs, building performance subscriptions, and B2B sales commissions.
Green Compass’s core customers are commercial Real Estate owners/operators in DC. They have sold SRCs to 20 buyers, including McDonald’s and the District of Columbia. The current crowdfunding campaign has a minimum target of $50,000 and a maximum target of $350,000. Proceeds will be used for expanding their green infrastructure projects and covering operational costs. Key partners include DC Green Bank and the District Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE).
SuperCrowd Minority Founders Offerings of the Week:
BlackLight, with a valuation of $10 million, is raising funds on Wefunder. The company has developed a search engine specifically for Black-owned businesses. BlackLight makes it easy to access products and services offered by Black-owned businesses and is uniquely positioned to fulfill underserved customer needs in multiple markets. The platform has a database of 120,000 Black businesses and works on a scalable business model with multiple revenue streams. Jason Norris and Alton Gunn founded BlackLight in June 2021. The current crowdfunding campaign has a minimum target of $50,000 and a maximum target of $124,000. SuperCrowd Women Founders Offerings of the Week:
Tansy, with a valuation of $2.9 million, is raising funds on Mr. Crowd. It is a plant nursery and home goods store in Los Angeles, California, and Seattle, Washington. Tansy celebrates diversity and entrepreneurial spirit and offers a world where each plant tells a story, and each item is a brushstroke in a tapestry of colors and textures. The business sources 90% of its decor ethically from charitable organizations and artisans and is committed to community engagement and Education. Shawna Christian founded Tansy in September 2018. The current crowdfunding campaign has a minimum target of $50,750 and a maximum target of $500,250. The campaign proceeds will be used for franchising expansion, marketing and brand development, operational efficiency enhancement, product and service expansion, and working capital. Evoke Chi is raising funds on Honeycomb Credit. It is an art gallery and production studio in Chicago, Illinois, dedicated to emerging and mid-career artists. Evoke Chi promotes creativity in a non-traditional and cutting-edge way and fosters ongoing collaboration with its diverse network of artists. The gallery works on an innovative model and focuses on showcasing and supporting artists of marginalized identities to diversify the art market and address systematic inequalities. Kiana Parsons and Fabian Sotelo founded Evoke Chi in September 2023. The current crowdfunding campaign has a minimum target of $25,000 and a maximum target of $40,000.
