The Importance of Listening and Healing Through Poetry with Frankie Abralind

  1. The Importance of Listening and Healing Through Poetry with Frankie Abralind Sapna A Shah-Haque 10:54

Listening is a crucial aspect of effective communication and interpersonal Relationships. It is important to actively listen to others without interrupting or making assumptions, in order to fully understand their perspectives and feelings. This can help to build trust and empathy, and create more meaningful connections between individuals.

Healing through poetry is a powerful tool that has been used for centuries. Poetry can offer a safe space for individuals to express their Emotions and experiences, and can be a means of catharsis and self-reflection. It can also provide a sense of comfort, validation, and connection to others who have had similar experiences. Through the use of metaphors, imagery, and symbolism, poetry can evoke deep emotions and allow individuals to process and heal from Trauma and pain.

When combined, the practice of active listening and poetry can create a transformative and healing experience for individuals. Engaging in active listening while someone shares their poetry can create a space of validation and understanding, allowing individuals to feel seen and heard.

Sapna Shah-Haque Internal Medicine Physician

Dr. Sapna Shah-Haque, MD is a board certified Internal Medicine physician. She was born and raised in Kansas, and attended medical school at the University of Kansas [KU] School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at KU-Wichita as well. After experiencing burnout herself, and watching other physician colleagues burn out, it became a passion of hers to look into different aspects of burnout. While the system does need to change, as it is broken, this podcast is a way to reach physicians and possibly shed light on what is not an isolated situation.
