60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday: How Can You Not Afford a Lazy Monday?

  1. 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday: How Can You Not Afford a Lazy Monday? 2:37

Hello to you listening in Vigo, Galicia, Spain!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Society does not approve of laziness. Imagine what society would say about establishing a Lazy Monday!

My teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh, encouraged us to take a Lazy Monday. What’s the point? “A lazy day is a chance to train ourselves not to be afraid of doing nothing. You might think that not doing anything is a waste of time. But that’s not true. Your time is first of all for you to be – to be alive, to be at peace. The world needs joyous and loving people who are capable of just being. People sometimes say ‘Don’t just sit there, do something’. But we have to reverse that statement to say ‘Don’t do something, just sit there’ in order to be in such a way that peace, understanding, and compassion are possible.”

Question: You absolutely can afford a Lazy Monday!  What’s it worth to you to give it a go?

Diane Wyzga Story Guide/Coach, Podcaster, Speaker & Trainer

Remember the first time you rode a bike and took your hands off the handlebars? And then because it felt fun and scary you did it again until you were streaking down a hill with the wind blowing in your face and your hands up over your head screaming, “Look ma! No hands!” That’s been the story of Diane's life. Showing up - maybe scared but not afraid - because when you fall down 7 you get up 8.

With 30 years in healthcare, business, law, higher education and storytelling Diane created a niche the world needs: helping socially conscious professionals and organizations connect, engage & succeed by crafting the stories that communicate their message.
