Panel Description: The caregiver plays a central role in the life of someone living with Parkinson’s. Whether it’s a professional caregiver, a family member, or a licensed facility, navigating Parkinson’s care requires a unique set of skills. This panel will cover everything from compassion fatigue to caregiving best practices, to decisions about care placement in pursuit of maintaining the best quality of life.

PANELISTS
Sue Lang – Suzanne "Sue" Lang is a wife, mother, and retired RN. She worked in cardiology for 20 years and served as a School Nurse for another 17 years. Despite her medical background, Sue says “nothing in my past prepared me for the emotional and psychological aspects of my current role as caregiver for my husband of 61 years, who has Parkinson’s.”

Janet Underwood – Janet Underwood has been a leading pioneer in senior housing locally for more than 20 years. As the founder and owner of Senior Housing of America Referral Experts, she has provided solutions to seniors and their families facing life-changing decisions. She was also the Executive Director of Senior T.V. – television by, for, and about seniors, for 15 years. Ms. Underwood received her Masters in Gerontology from Wichita State.

Jose Gonzalez – Jose G. Gonzalez is a dedicated caregiver with over 30 years in healthcare. Trained as a CNA, LVN, and hospital corpsman, he provides compassionate care while ensuring patient well-being. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, attending concerts, and hiking.
