275: Kristina Podnar: The Importance of Digital Integrity In Today’s Marketplace

  1. 275: Kristina Podnar: The Importance of Digital Integrity In Today’s Marketplace Nicole Jansen, Leadership Coach For Purpose-Driven Entrepreneurs 29:06

What is digital governance and why does it matter?

Kristina Podnar, principal at NativeTrust Consulting, LLC, is a digital governance advisor with nearly 20 years of management consulting experience. She has a history of successfully deploying complex digital transformation projects for global 1000 companies, government, and not-for-profit organizations as well as having an aptitude for solving organizational challenges related to IT and digital governance issues.

Kristina holds a BA in international studies and an MBA in international business from the Dominican University of California, as well as certifications as a Change Management Practitioner (APMG International) and a Project Management Professional (Project Management Institute).

In today’s conversation with us, Kristina explains her role as a digital governance advisor, what areas of your operations are affected by digital governance (or the lack thereof), how to know when to implement digital policies in your business, and why they are essential to the success and longevity of your business.

As Kristina puts it, the internet has grown but we haven’t developed in maturity in terms of handling personal data, how we think about websites and mobile applications, and making sure they are accessible to everyone. Whether you are a global 1000 company or a recent startup entrepreneur – you’ll find this conversation very relevant and practical.

Key Takeaways

  1. Businesses and organizations are not adapting themselves for the realities of today.
  2. Omni channel means you as an individual should be able to interact with businesses however you choose – either by phone, email, text, chat box, etc.
  3. There is a huge opportunity in embracing digital policies to meet the needs of a wider audience in a way that other businesses are not (yet).
  4. As a business, the content that you publish has to be current and have integrity.
  5. Digital governance helps you establish your digital guardrails – the extent to which employees can operate in putting content out there, without putting the company in danger.
