Intentionally Pursuing Christ in the Military Life with Beth Runkle

  1. Intentionally Pursuing Christ in the Military Life with Beth Runkle HomeFront Sitrep 1:20:41

Beth is a proud military spouse of 25 years. She began a relationship with Jesus Christ a few

years after she wed her military husband because of her involvement in Bible Study. Beth and

her husband saw their lives and marriage dramatically transformed by Christ and the Biblical

blueprint for marriage and began sharing that information with other military couples. After 25

years, her husband was ready to retire but they weren’t ready to leave gospel-centered ministry to

the military behind. So, they joined Cru Military’s staff, a Campus Crusade for Christ division,

and moved to Colorado. They work as missionaries to the military and are engaged in ministry

to cadets at the Air Force Academy and other ministries to couples and women at the 4 military

bases in Colorado Springs. Beth earned a master’s degree from Gateway Seminary to better

equip her for leading Bible study with military spouses and women. Beth is also publishing a

book for military wives called Another Move, God? 30 Encouragements to Embrace Your Life as

a Military Wife with B & H Publishing in October of 2024. Beth and her husband have two kids

in college.

David Willis HomeFront Sitrep Podcast

My name is David Willis, I knew at a very early age that I was going into the military but didn’t know what branch. As I got older and started learning about each branch and quickly figured out that the Marines was the best. I served in the Marine Corps from 97-04. My MOS was 0311(infantry). I went to Paris Island for boot camp after boot camp I was stationed with 2nd blt 8th Marines Golf company. While with 2/8 I went on several deployments to port a prince Haiti, Okinawa, South Korea, Greece, also did two trips to Bridgeport California for cold weather training, I wasn’t going to make a Mediterranean float so I extended and joined 1st blt 8th Marines Bravo company. During my time there we deployed to the Mediterranean and had stops in Spain, Italy, Malta, Africa, and other ports. I got out of the Marines in August of 01, but 9/11 happened and was recalled to go back in where I was stationed with a mobilization support battalion and deployed.
