
April 22 is Earth Day an annual event to encourage us to focus on the environmental issues that face our beautiful Mother Earth. First held in 1970 it includes a wide range of events coordinated globally through earthday.org and 1 billion people in more than 193 countries now partipate. There are so many ‘Special Days’ now that we have become immune to them. Some are whimsical such as Appreciate a Dragon Day to more serious focus days such as Earth Day. It’s a time for us to reflect on what we are doing as individuals to address environmental issues and to create a healthier planet for our future generations. Earth Day’s 2025 theme is OUR POWER, OUR PLANET, calling for everyone to unite around renewable energy so we can triple clean electricity by 2030. How can you help? Participate in Earth Action Day by educating, advocating, and mobilizing your communities. Create or find an Earth Action event on the Earth Day map, and get out the word on social media. It doesn’t just have to be on the 22nd of April. Being mindful of our environment should be daily.
