When Tammy Zelez, Editor-in-Chief of The mUse Magazine, invited me to pitch an upcoming issue focusing on mom entrepreneurs, I knew exactly what I wanted to write about: the skills millions of women have built over decades of Motherhood that never quite seem to make it onto a résumé — and why it’s costing us more than we realize.
My article, “Moms Who Built Their Next Chapters by Using Their Mom Skills,” makes the case that what looks like a gap is actually elite professional training. Crisis management, negotiation, project management at scale, building trust under pressure – mothers do all of it, unpaid and largely uncredited. Sharon Macey is a content creator, speaker, blogger and host of the Mom to MORE® podcast. She founded Mom To MORE®, a podcast and community for women rediscovering their purpose, reigniting their passions, and reinventing themselves beyond raising kids.
Sharon enjoyed a successful career as an award-winning copywriter and marketer before embracing the role of stay-at-home-mom (SAHM). During the years of raising 3 kids, she realized she was actually fine-tuning a skillset that would inspire her personal reinvention and help create her "MORE".
