Finances matter.   We don’t get taught the business side in medical school or residency.

On the latest episode of The Worthy Physician, host Dr. Sapna Shah-Haque is joined by medical business consultant Juli Quinn to discuss the importance of medical billing for healthcare practitioners. Quinn explains that while providers give bedside care, they also have the overhead of running an office, staff, supplies, and insurance, making it extremely expensive to be a healthcare provider. She emphasizes the importance of having accounts receivable, that is efficient, to keep the doors open and ensure that reimbursement comes in at a later time. The episode highlights the challenges of reimbursement and the role of insurance companies in the process.

Listeners gain insights into the business side of healthcare and the importance of effective medical billing practices.

She completed her Internal Medicine residency at KU-Wichita as well.
