Writing for fun and profit

I don’t know about you, but I keep getting emails telling me how I can turn my hobby of writing into a profitable business. I am retired and have a good income, so I am not in a hurry to do extra work. This post summarizes and makes fun of the emails that I receive at least once a day, if not more. It is not serious, but my brother wrote a children’s book and self-published it in 2008, but my artwork would make a cave person blush, so there are some facets of reality here.

So, you’ve got an interest in writing fun children’s books that inspire a whole new generation, spark newfound joy in a child’s life, while getting paid top dollar for your writing — this is the post for you.

At Write For Fun, we know how important it is to get paid for the work you do, even if it doesn’t bring you a paycheck. We take your interest in writing fun children’s books, and help you get serious about your writing career and make Money from it. After all, isn’t it time that we, as an industry, share some of our profits? Let us help you turn your passion into profit by sharing some of our best tips for becoming published and making money from your writing career.

Writing for fun and profit is something that I’ll always love to do. It doesn’t matter if it’s picture books, novels or articles — when I can create something beautiful for my enjoyment, and receive both monetary compensation in return and accolades from those who enjoy it — that’s when I feel like the most accomplished person in the world.

If you can dream it, you can write it. With our tools, a large audience of readers will recognize for the quality and purpose of your writing all of your work.

So you’ve got your story conceived and ready to go — do a quick Google search for “children’s book agent”, send off an email and in no time you’re submitting work to publishers. But here’s the thing: these big publishing houses often consider writers the bottom of the barrel because we don’t have all the fancy degrees or impress the inner circles of their world-renowned organizations.

My first self-published children’s book came out in 2008 and mommy bloggers everywhere went crazy over it… because it was self-published! With this success under my belt, I started my blog. It wasn’t long before I started selling some art on Etsy as well.
