No two people are the same…so why assume everyone on your team sees things the same way as you do?
Many young managers are not comfortable yet with the skills to motivate and influence. Instead, they use the power of their title.
The problem arises when they try to influence others to follow when they don’t fully understand their motivations.
Consider using a personality assessment and map the results in such a way as they see the manager/leader and their team members together.
Have them talk about it, discuss it, and uncover the team members’ point of view. Once they understand, they may learn something very valuable while becoming a more trusted leader.
