When it comes to clothing, we all know the struggle of finding pieces that fit just right. Off-the-rack options often fail to deliver the exact fit, especially if you’re aiming for something both stylish and tailored. I reached out to Sumissura when eShakti closed its doors. Having made-to-order clothing at a reasonable cost is brilliant. It reminds me of when my mom used to make my clothes for me. Custom-made means you don’t worry that your clothing items won’t fit.

This is a very different experience from eShakti, and as I said before, it’s tailored to working women. Yet who out there doesn’t appreciate pants that fit without alterations or tops that don’t gape?
I won’t say every step was easy peasy, but it’s like anything. The more you play around with the site, the more you can figure it out.

1. Choose Your Fabric and Style: My first step was selecting the fabric and design details for each item. Sumissura offers a range of fabrics, colors, and patterns. While I wore them together for this made-to-order clothing review, they will be easy to pair with other items in my closet.
2. Measurements Made Easy: Sumissura has a handy guide and videos that walk you through taking your own measurements at home. You can input measurements for bust, waist, hips, inseam, and more, ensuring that your pieces are made-to-order clothing in your exact size.
3. Design Details and Finishes: This part was the most fun! Sumissura lets you customize small details that make a big difference.

Insider tip: You can put in your measurements by creating a profile before you put the garment in your cart. Or you can wait until you have purchased the clothing, as it will prompt you to make sure your measurements are at their disposal.

The Red Pants

My struggles with buying pants off the rack are my waist-to-hip ratio as well as my short legs. This is one reason why I have taken up alterations so that I can alter the pants that I usually buy.

I have been taking stock of my closet now that all of my items are in one place in our new house. With that, I have noticed a gap in some colors of clothing items. Red pants were one of those gaps.

Here is where I found all of the selection of material for pants, and I chose the wool red option.
My choices included:

Because they were tailored to my exact measurements, they sit comfortably at the waist without gapping and fit beautifully around the hips and thighs. The Dark Floral V-Neck Top

The second piece I customized was this dark floral V-neck top. At first, I thought I would order a button-down blouse to talk about the gape/nongape factor.
However, when I discovered I could create a v-neck top like this, I thought it might be something my readers would appreciate even more.

Insider tip: Although you all know how much I love a buttoned blouse since there are a variety of ways to wear it. Need a couple of references? There is the easy trick of wearing it as a jacket or there are a couple of ideas from this article.

My struggles with tops are that many times the sleeves are too long and they are a bit boxy with my chest-to-waist ratio.

The beauty of a made-to-order clothing top is that it fits comfortably in all the right places. This V-neck top drapes beautifully without being too tight or too loose. And it’s not too long so I can tuck it in easily.

Laundry Tips

One thing you will notice when you get your made-to-order clothing from Sumissura is that the only label on it is the Sumissura label.

The upside is that there is no size label for those of you who obsess over a size. I’ve heard many a stylist recommend cutting out size labels because they aren’t important. What is important is if something fits.

The downside of this Sumissura label is there is no washing label provided in either of the clothing pieces that I received.

I put the top in the washer and dryer as my norm, and it came through with no shrinkage or changes.
The pants are a wool blend, so I knew better than to wash those the same way. In all reality, I don’t wash my pants every time I wear them. I wash them only when they get dirty.
With this pair, I will use my Dryell kit and/or spot-clean any stains.

Who is Made To Order Clothing For?

If you are looking for quality items that fit to perfection without alterations, then made-to-order clothing with Sumuissa could be the perfect option for you.

I’m not saying this is for everyone. As someone who thrifts and promotes sales, if buying made-to-order pieces you are paying the full price which can be difficult.
And if your size isn’t stable, you may not want made-to-order clothing.

I would like to point out that the company has much more than just pants and tops. There are party pieces, jeans, dresses, and clothing for a wedding as well as shoes. AND there is a men’s section.

How are the prices? As a budget-oriented girl, I would say they are more than I would expect to pay at a discount store, yet less than what I would think you would have to spend to get made-to-order clothing.
Tops run from $60-100.
Pants run from $115-200.

Insider tip: The reason I think this can be reasonably priced is that you are not needing to do alterations to have clothing that fits perfectly.
Or you haven’t had to try on 10 pairs of jeans to find a good fit. Our time is Money also.
I also know how much my mother used to charge to custom-make clothing because it is a lot of work.

I haven’t tried out everything from the brand but they do have a perfect fit guarantee that states.
