Daily Looks: Week Ending 9.8.23

It was a hodgepodge of outfits this week. I’m still dressing for our hot weather, but trying to have fun with variety.

Saturday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 9.8.23 &Raquo; Sat
Dress: Hot Touch c/o~~Jacket: GiGio-from Just Be Youtiful~~Sandals: Bella Marie-Bealls

This is the dress I was talking about in my email that came in the mail and I have no idea which company sent it. I assume it was a PR company, but I don’t recognize the label name.

The jacket is because we are taking my friend thrift store shopping, so it may be chilly inside. I have the matching pants that I wore on Wednesday of this week’s Daily Outfit post.

One of these days I will wear the matching jacket and pants together. I think I can pull it off somehow.

I felt the need for some bright shoes and accessories, so out came the hot pink sandals. The baseball hat is because my hair decided to curl with all of the humidity that day.

Sunday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 9.8.23 &Raquo; Sun
Dress: Shoshanna ~~Tutu: no label-Goodwill~~Sneakers: G by Guess-Goodwill

We were going to a matinee play, so I wanted to dress up yet keep it casual. I grabbed this dress that I’ve worn for the idea of a school reunion over 5 years ago. Because it’s form-fitting, I wanted a layer over my tummy to camouflage it. And this kid’s tutu worked perfectly (you’ve seen me wear it as a top before).

Insider tip: I think the open-shoulder detail seems a bit dated, so I’m going to remove the sleeves and make it sleeveless. So many of our items can be altered to work with the times.

I also kept it casual with these floral sneakers recently thrifted. And then my Jim Halo statement eyeglasses brought in another whimsical detail.

Monday

This “top” is really the pants from last Thursday’s outfit. I didn’t explain why I hadn’t been wearing them much, so I made a video to show my issue with them. The video isn’t edited yet, but I’ll share it in my email when it’s done.
Yet as I always say, we are the boss of our clothes. The pants are just a piece of material with a seam, so there are many other ways I could wear them. Wearing it as a one-shoulder top is the tip of the iceberg. I know it would also make a beautiful scarf with some twisting and folding.

The skirt is part of a suit and I’ve worn it when we talked about how you could transition your wardrobe after Retirement yet not give everything away.
Of course, I’m wearing my strapless/backless bra, and I kept the shoes and accessories minimal.

Tuesday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 9.8.23 &Raquo; Tues
Dress: thrifted~~Skirt: Target~~Sandals: Marc Fisher-won in giveaway

I was just going to wear the dress alone today, however, it felt very clingy on the rear end. And since I had already worn a short skirt OVER a dress on Sunday, I thought I would layer a skirt UNDER the dress instead. What do you think?

I’ve worn this dress with a crochet cardigan in the past. And you can see the pink slip skirt worn for FierceCon back in 2018 under a sheer overlay skirt.

I felt like I wanted some decoration at the top half but it was still too hot to wear a scarf the traditional way. So I got creative by using this scarf as epulets. Here is the video. It’s easy.

The sandals were a giveaway win from last year and I’ve been surprised how much I wear them. It’s nice to have multi-colored shoes for many days.

Wednesday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 9.8.23 &Raquo; Wed
Pants: LOFT-Goodwill~~Top: H&M~~Sandals: Jessica Simpson-DSW

I pulled out this pair of pants that is part of a suit I thrifted a couple of years ago. I hadn’t worn them recently, and since we had a chiropractor’s appointment, they worked fabulously. The look reminds me of my working days except for work, I would have had a blazer on.

This top was worn when I was working, it’s that old. I wanted to give the look a creative vibe by adding the self belt from this dress that I wore recently.

Insider tip: Take off the self belts from clothing and store them together with your other belts. Then you will wear them with other things.

The sandals are my newest pair from DSW, and my earrings are handmade by two sisters who sell their earrings. You can request unique shapes or colors which is wonderful for gifts too.

Thursday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 9.8.23 &Raquo; Thurs
Shorts: Joe Fresh-thrifted~~Top: Mott & Bow “Marcy” Tee~~Sandals: Ros Hommerson

Today’s look is meant for a day of cleaning after I finish some administrative things on the computer. I hadn’t worn these camo shorts yet this year, so I figured it was time. I tend to try to brighten them up with lighter colors, so this time I chose a rust t-shirt instead.

The t-shirt is actually called Cardamom from Mott & Bow. I would wear it alone, but I wished I had sized up. I don’t love how it pulls against my girls. (I got an XS, but the S would be better).

This vest is an oldie from Charming Charlies and I’ve worn it on the blog before, but I can’t remember when.

I thought it would be fun to add bright pink with my belt and earrings, and then some print mixing with the snakeskin sandals. These sandals were Walking Cradles before they became Ros. The style isn’t available this season, but Ros still has the same, amazing comfort in their shoes. Friday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 9.8.23 &Raquo; Fri
Dress: eShakti~~Sandals: Modzori

It’s going to be a scorcher today and we would be driving to the airport to pick up my high school bestie, so a loosy goosy dress was the clothing item of choice.

This is the dress from eShakti when I asked my email readers to choose between 3 dresses. This one has been incredible because it’s so easy to wear in the heat. Now I’ll be interested to see if I can transition it to wintertime.

Insider discount: eShakti offers my readers $50 off their first purchase and therefore you can get something custom-sized for basically $25 (minimum purchase). It’s truly a great deal.

With a neckline like this, I am wearing my Gatherall strapless/backless bra. The bra is also ideal for hot weather because there is no material around your back (BTW, don’t think the cheaper Amazon versions will stay up. I tried those and they were a failure).

I can’t remember which shoes I wore with the dress the first time I wore them, but I decided to go with my edgy reversible Modzori ones today. Use 10Jodie for a discount.
