Daily Looks: Week Ending 7.26.24

Green was a common theme this week, but not on purpose. I was also surprised to notice that I wore more pants and shorts (Tuesday’s outfit was a romper, not a dress) than the norm in this type of weather.

Signing up for emails is signing up for a daily dose of positivity. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.

Skirt: Love on a Hanger-thrifted~~Top: Old Navy~~Sandals: Cambiami c/o

One of my rules is to try to wear my new things right away so I will remember what I have.

And while this cropped top is showing off my midriff now, it won’t when I pair it with my high-rise pants or, if I wear it over a dress. But today was hot, hot, hot and I didn’t mind the bare belly.
Also if I pull the sleeves down to make it OFS, it becomes longer and doesn’t show my tummy.

My yellow sandals are those that are interchangeable. I recently created a video about them because I was frustrated with how the blue straps wore out after only wearing them once. And I didn’t get any customer service response when I tried to contact them.
After my video, they did say they were sending me a new blue strap, but I shouldn’t have to make a video for that to happen.

FYI, both the yellow of the shoes and my glasses are much lighter than the top, but they still look good together.
Clothing does NOT need to match to go together.

Sunday

Dress: from Just Be Youtiful~~Sandals: Impo-DSW

Kym from Just Be Youtiful gave me this dress. The belt? It’s actually the pockets pulled out and wrapped into a knot. Crazy, right? Wanna see the video?

Without the pockets as a belt, the dress is too long and a bit shapeless. And a leather belt would be very hot with our temperatures.

These sandals have been a great buy this season and I know I’ll be wearing them for years.
While they look high, it’s all because of the platform, not the slope of the shoe. And the silk fabric ties are much less confining than leather. Plus they don’t rub or hurt my bunion.
The other great factor is that because they tie on my ankles, my ankles are supported.

I accessorized with my favorite cross necklace that is on sale right now for a steal plus use code Jodie20 for a discount. BTW, she is having a huge summer sale, so check out other items too.

Pants: Ann Taylor~~Cami: Express-Your Revolving Closet~~Sandals: Via Spaga-thrifted

I would never have worn a cami by itself years ago. Now that I have my Gatherall bra, it’s easy and perfect for the summer.

The only reason I have the jacket over my shoulders is we have to go to the car dealership for a repair on our AC, and I KNOW that it’s cold there.

Even though my cropped pants (worn here with many different footwear choices) don’t have belt loops, I wanted to add some bling to copy the bling of my sandals.

I have more rose gold bling with my bracelets and earrings.

What you don’t see is the fun lime green barrette in my hair.

And can you tell that I’m print mixing? The jacket has tiny polka dots. My mom wore it a long time ago.

Tuesday

Romper: Express-Your Revolving Closet~~Sandals: Ros (formerly Walking Cradles) “Nella

I put this romper on and the ties in the front chest area were SOOOO long. I ended up tucking them into the front so you can’t see them and then adding the tassel “necklace” to give some coverage.

But I had to laugh when I saw how the item was meant to be worn on the website. I tried it that way but went back to my idea.

I added the eyelet wrap only because we have massages today and it’s cold in Hand & Stone. But this wrap is meant to tie in the front. I tied the ends behind me.
An advantage to tying the ends this way? Easier to go to the bathroom because this is a romper, not a dress.

Gold sandals go with everything, and this pair is super comfy because of the tiny pillows in the insole plus the fact the company is size-inclusive. PLUS they are on sale.

Do you remember the tassels I bought at the fabric store recently? I wore them once on the pins at my shoulders, once as earrings, and today as a pendant on a necklace. Talk about versatile.

Wednesday

Overalls: Old Navy cut into shorts~~Top: Victoria’s Secret-thrifted~~Sandals: B52-DSW

Today was dog training class, so shorts were perfect for the day. Funny, I didn’t notice that my leg cuffs didn’t match until I pulled up this photo. Another good reason to take a selfie every day.

I found this sequin tube top when a thrift store was going out of business and figured I could wear it a couple of ways. I want to layer it over a white button-up blouse at some point, but today I paired it with these overall shorts.

You’ve seen these overalls as long jeans, but last summer I thought I’d wear them more as shorts. So chop, chop, and tada.

After seeing this photo, I removed the belt and liked how it looked much better. I included that photo in my email, so you can compare it and let me know what you think (you can see that the tube top moved down too, but I was still covered).

I decorated with a bling pin on my overall front pocket and my straw flower earrings that are still available on Amazon (and under #10).

The rose gold sandals were found in the kid’s section at DSW.

Insider tip: Here’s the conversion for adult to kid-size shoes.

Pants: SheIn-thrifted~~Top: GilliYour Revolving Closet~~Sandals: Old Navy

Rob and I laughed when we took photos of this outfit because he calls me his “hippy chick” when I look like I’m dressed from the 60s.

The pants were found for $1 when Uptown Cheapskate was getting rid of summer things, and the top is from Your Revolving Closet. It’s a top that looks great with these pants, but I would never have thought to buy it.
That is exactly why I love the idea of renting clothes.

Insider detail: You get a 30-day free trial of Your Revolving Closet and I think it’s beneficial for everyone to do that. It’s easy to cancel before you get charged and a great way to try new styles and brands of clothing.

I accessorized with orange with my shoes, glasses, and jewelry. This is my favorite way to add a third color to the mix.

Did you notice the clip-on earrings at the strap area of my top? That’s me adding a little bling for good measure. The title photo has a better view of one of them.

And I have a head scarf pulling back my curls today.

Thank you
