It all started when…
I had this idea to share my thoughts and experiences on some of the greatest music albums out there. I wanted to write album reviews that were different from any other album reviews sites. I want to invoke passion in the reader. I want them to either agree, disagree, or be curious enough to have a new experience.
Unlike other music review websites, which are objective, I feel the best music review sites tell a story, not only about the album but about the person reviewing the album and how it influenced them.
Music is the greatest thing on this planet. It can heal the most broken heart. It can give confidence to those in need and it can bring us all closer together to one common goal.

In this episode, we are going back to 1993. The Seattle grunge scene was in full swing. Most bands of that era were releasing their 2nd and 3rd albums. But in this mix, was a quartet from Chicago, Illinois who fit in somewhat with the early 90s grunge scene, although they were based out of a different city. A city, mind you, that has birthed SEVERAL amazing musicians and bands such as “Chicago”, Wilco, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Ministry, Earth Wind & Fire, Freddy Jones Band, Veruca Salt and many more. But unlike these groups I just mentioned, this band was different. And on J…

Song of the Day You Must Hear: "Carnival Days" by EndTime FriendTime. Out of West Virginia, EndTime FriendTime submitted this track to us recently. We love this song's mellow start. As it builds up, it eventually explodes into the chorus and forces you to tap your foot while your head starts to bob. You can't help it. It's infectious!!Drop the Needle and Keep listening! For more go to https://www.albumreview.net/

Episode #75 - "The Window" by Chicago based - Ratboys...Yes you read that right...and they are not a 70s punk band from London.Whichever way you interpret this song, it is another SOLID addition to a genuine album that is durable, stable and most of all, new (2023)! Well, newer! Folks, The Window is my pick for best album of 2023. Not to mention, the band’s four previous albums, dating back to 2015 are also all very strong. I mean this. Learning this on my own gave me a deeper sense of respect for this band. Ratboys are the real deal. And similar to the many bands I stumbled acr…

Curtis is an artist originally from Belfast, Ireland who now lives in The Netherlands.I want to celebrate Friday and crank this one up as I crack a cold one - celebrating a long week of hard work.Curtis, thank you for sharing your track "Driver's Seat" with us!I enjoy this track very much, and am grateful Curtis sent it to me. Song of the Day You Must Hear: "Trying to Feel" by a Luxembourg based band called, SCIAN.As a proud member of the Groover music curator community, I enjoyed this song very much. It has a new wave metal feel to it which is certainly admirable. At the same time, in my opinion, the bridge/buildup bass solo towards the end really brings the song together and I think will pique the interest of any person interested in this genre currently. At the mid-point mark, the song picks up and invokes a melodic, heavy metal direction that really leaves the listener wanting more..We don't tak…

Yesterday, Sept 18th 2024, marked the 32nd anniversary of the film release of "Singles". The soundtrack was released (we said "released" back then instead of today's term - "dropped") a few months earlier in June of 1992..This is a memory of an older episode we did in 2021, reviewing the soundtrack of this movie. Arguably the greatest soundtrack ever "dropped"...Listen to this and more at https://www.albumreview.net/podcast

Today, my song of the day that you must hear: "Sidetracked" by Alabama based singer/songwriter, JON WILLIAMS.In my opinion, Jon's vocals have a strong presence and really carry the bulk of the track. His lyrics are very meaningful and I think tell a Bob Dylan-like story, telling perhaps a real life story of a man who has been fighting his own demons. We have always been advocates and fans of the folk rock genre. You should also checked out Jon's YouTube page at https://www.youtube.com/@jonisaac24 and watch his other lives performances. Thanks for sending us great music from Alab…
