A Veterans Day Tribute from Prosperity Financial Group
On a very personal note, words seem insufficient to express my deepest gratitude to our veterans. Their courageous and selfless sacrifices in keeping America safe and preserving our cherished freedoms.
Gratitude for Our Veterans: Recognizing Sacrifices and Liberties
Thanks to them, we enjoy privileges that are far from universal. We’re fortunate to vote in a new government every two years, freely express our opinions without fear of repercussion, and hold beliefs that may differ radically from those of our friends and neighbors. Our liberties, encompassing everything from the pursuit of success irrespective of our ancestry, race, gender, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs, to practicing our faith without the dread of persecution, are truly invaluable.
Moreover, we’re protected by the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. These documents stand among the most profound testaments to freedom ever conceived.
Our veterans have paid dearly for these freedoms – with their lives, their blood, their limbs, and often with their mental well-being. This leads to an alarming prevalence of PTSD and tragically high rates of suicide. Their families, too, have borne immense burdens. The courage and resilience of the many veterans and their families I’ve encountered have profoundly moved me.
Veterans Day History: Reflecting on the Significance of November 11
Veterans Day, established in the wake of World War I – “the war to end all wars” – is a solemn federal holiday. Proclaimed on November 11th by President Eisenhower, it honors the armistice of WWI, which occurred on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918. This day is our opportunity to pay homage to all who have served America.
To offer some perspective, since 1775, approximately 850,000 United States soldiers have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
On behalf of everyone at Prosperity Financial Group, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our veterans. We embrace you in gratitude and respect for your service. God Bless America, and please, take a moment to thank a veteran.
