One of my favorite movies is Twelve Angry Men.
The
original was made in 1957 starring Henry Fonda, then it was remade
for TV in 1997 starring Jack Lemmon. It’s a true-crime courtroom
drama, but most of the action takes place in the jury deliberation
room for a murder trial. I think both versions are pretty good.
But
we know how Hollywood likes to play up the drama and the theatrics,
and what we see on the screen is entertaining, but not always very
accurate.
Wouldn’t
it be interesting to know what it’s like to actually be on a jury
for a murder trial? That’s what my guest today, Jami, is going to
talk about. She was actually the jury foreman.
Jami
told this story here on the podcast about 4 years ago, and it was a
really popular episode. She’s a great storyteller and I think
you’ll enjoy hearing all the behind-the-scenes details about being
on a jury for a major case – and how this experience inspired her
to start her OWN true crime podcast.
