Hero Pieces

Diane Gilman begins by highlighting the significance of hero pieces in your Wardrobe. She emphasizes their ability to serve as foundational elements that effortlessly elevate your look. For this season, Diane has chosen two standout pieces: her trusty Burberry trench coat and a pair of jeggings (denim look leggings).

In her four day hero piece experiment Diane focuses on the trench coat. Check out her looks below.

Day 1

On the first day of her trench coat experiment, Diane embraces a low-lux style by pairing her Burberry trench coat with a chunky ivory-based turtleneck, indigo denim jeggings, and an eye-catching printed navy bag by Goyard. Completing the look with ivory sneakers, Diane exudes confidence and sets the tone for her spring Wardrobe.

Day 2

Transitioning into day two, Diane opts for a pastel butter yellow cashmere sweater layered beneath her Burberry trench coat. Accompanied by bleached-out denim skinny jeans and a matching cashmere hoodie, she adds a touch of sophistication with a Hermes-patterned scarf and a pair of status-look loafers. Reflecting on her evolving style preferences, Diane finds comfort in the understated elegance of her ensemble, perfectly suited for any occasions.

Day 3

Doing some closet shopping, Diane switches to her Zara trench coat for day three, infusing her look with a nostalgic 70s vibe. Pairing it with an AmazonBasics beige poor boy turtleneck, mid-tone denim jeggings and navy sock sneakers, she emphasizes the timeless appeal of hero pieces in creating effortlessly chic outfits.

Day 4

Concluding her trench coat experiment, Diane returns to her beloved Burberry trench coat for the final day. Layering a cotton cable knit sweater from AmazonBasics over black faux leather stretch leggings and a pair of black sock sneakers in a sophisticated yet comfortable ensemble. She finished the look with a Burberry scarf, which worked well with the Burberry trench coat.
