Oksana’s parents were both ‘conscripted’ into being slave labor for the Nazis. They weren’t in a concentration camp, so we’ve never heard of them. But there were more people forced into slave labor during the war than were killed in camps. This is a side of the war rarely (if ever) discussed. It’s time that changed.
