Ep 246 One World in a New World with Matt Maes

What if the path to a better world begins with curiosity?

In this inspiring episode of One World in a New World, Zen Benefiel sits down with artist, educator, visual storyteller, and Octopus Movement co-founder Matt Maes to explore creativity, consciousness, personal sovereignty, mythic thinking, and humanity’s collective evolution.

Matt shares his personal journey through neurodiversity, Depression, artistic discovery, Meditation, mythology, and the lifelong pursuit of truth. Together, Zen and Matt dive into profound questions about identity, belonging, intuition, spirituality, coherence, and the role of creativity in transforming both individuals and society.

Topics include:

🎨 Creativity as a path to sovereignty

🧠 Neurodiversity and unique ways of perceiving reality

🌎 Unity consciousness and interconnected humanity

✨ Intuition, inspiration, and the creative process

📖 Mythology and archetypes as guides for life

🌱 Personal transformation through curiosity and wonder

🤝 Community, belonging, and collective flourishing

⚡ The relationship between spirituality and science

🌍 Building a more coherent and compassionate future

One of Matt’s most powerful insights:

“Creativity is a faculty of sovereignty.”

And perhaps the central message of the entire conversation:

Curiosity leads to exploration, exploration leads to understanding, and understanding becomes embodiment.

This is a conversation for artists, visionaries, seekers, educators, entrepreneurs, and anyone who believes humanity can become something greater than it is today.
