Generation Bold Radio, July 4, 2021–Guest: David Mayer, Patient Safety Movement Foundation

Dr. David Mayer joined the Patient Safety Movement Foundation as the CEO in 2019 bringing decades of experience in both the public and private sector. He is currently focused on helping the Patient Safety Movement ensure safety across three key priority areas: process and system improvements, enhanced communication and resolution after preventable harm and continued education for future generations of healthcare workers. In his concurrent role as executive director of the MedStar Institute for Quality and Safety (MIQS) he is responsible for leading specific quality and safety programs in support of discovery, learning and the application of innovative methods to operational clinical challenges. He has also served as vice president, quality and safety for MedStar Health and oversaw the infrastructure for clinical quality and its operational efficiency for MedStar and each of its entities, as well as the chief medical officer for Quality and Safety Graduate Medical Education and director of the University of Illinois at Chicago Masters of Science Patient Safety Leadership Program.
