There are people in America who follow God’s Ten Commandments, like Charlie Kirk, and others who try to play God in other people’s lives, like the assassin. We talk about Mental Health, but we fail to realize that a person’s state of mind shows how they’re handling life’s problems.
We are all spiritual beings with many talents. Child abuse and neglect disrupt children’s spiritual center, and boys and girls may become bullies or easy targets. Without a strong sense of identity, these children act out their anger. (Americans spend $220 million a DAY on child abuse and neglect.)
We are all born with a strong, resilient spirit and God-given talents, including imagination, intuition, creativity, insight, a sense of humor, hidden abilities yet to be discovered, and a self-protective conscience that can keep us safe and healthy.
I saw the best in the worst of society over 40 years as a crime and violence prevention specialist. I survived abandonment by my parents; here is what I have learned over the years.
Humans are naturally meant to work together, care for, and support each other. That is called Love! When a child is bullied, neglected, or abused, they often feel bad about themselves and develop low self-esteem. To protect themselves, they might bully other children or become easy targets for bullies. This shows a child who is spiritually off-balance, which can lead to mental Health problems, anger, and even violence that might result in revenge. Revenge can escalate into murder. That is called evil.
Years ago, many families attended church, which provided them with emotional tools to look inward and strengthen themselves. Over the years, families without religion taught kids values such as honesty, encouragement for their talents, the importance of a good Education, and the value of military service, which instilled self-discipline.
However, society became weaker, and some children stopped learning how to manage their Emotions. Abused and neglected children felt lonely and isolated, and they didn’t develop a spiritual understanding of themselves.
On September 10, 2025, Americans witnessed good versus evil. A 22-year-old man harbored anger and hatred in his heart, and we saw the consequences for Charlie Kirk. His killer didn’t care about anyone, not even himself.
Young people are impressionable and often seek guidance from external sources. Violent and sexualized movies, angry music, and the internet can influence young minds that don’t yet understand their inner strength. They focus on hate and crave attention. Charlie’s killer mentioned that, after the shooting, he was an excellent shooter.
The American struggle today is between good and evil. Many parents don’t realize their own power and forget about the strength within all of us. Gangs recruit 400,000 new members each year. Politicians jump into the debate over whether to send more police or restrict guns. We have failed to address the spiritual crisis that profoundly affects American families and neighborhoods.
Charlie was influential because he recognized the strength of the human spirit and initiated a vital movement among our youth.
We have many people trying to awaken the public as we face kids killing kids, drive-by shootings, youth looting stores, and mass shootings. We also confront the troubling fact that American politicians contribute to the problem with name-calling and threats of violence.
We need to shift away from thinking “I’m right and you are wrong” and instead work together to deal with the real issue, spiritual warfare. We must speak out and hold accountable all violent actions by politicians, citizens, and youth. They are risking American lives and our future.
Thank you, Charlie Kirk, for helping to empower Americans.
