Are “we the people” expecting politicians to save our children and restore family and community values? A politician’s job is to pass laws and spend taxpayers’ money. Americans have seen a gradual decline in family, youth, and neighborhood health and safety. Years ago, many citizens decided they didn’t need a loving God to help guide their lives or the lives of their children.   Today’s statistics are alarming and costly. Taxpayers spend $220 million a DAY on child abuse and neglect. (Prevent Child Abuse) We spend $655 Billion a year on gangs. Since Columbine in 1999, more than 338,000 students in the U.S. have experienced gun violence at school, with over 19,000 people shot and wounded or killed in a mass shooting since 2015.  The mother of Michigan High School shooter Ethan Crumbley, age 15, was recently convicted of four counts of involuntary manslaughter. Her husband goes on trial on March 5th. Many Americans are living in fear as violence on our streets continues to go unchecked. Stores are looted, and vandalism increases, with many stores going out of business. City leaders put limitations on police, and prosecutors fail to prosecute criminals. Teenagers discovered what adults failed to learn: they have unstoppable power to create fear and make people feel helpless as they band together to loot stores and destroy property. Americans are watching crime and violence on our streets, with teens and young adults looting stores, rioting, hitting strangers, and killing innocent people. It is sad to see and tragic for everyone who doesn’t feel safe in today’s cities.  Yes, we need more police and consequences for criminal behavior, but that will not solve the problem. Over the last few decades, Americans saw a massive change from girls protecting their virginity in the 1950s to an increasing number of teenagers actively engaging in sex. Sex gradually became acceptable in movies; today, sexual acts are on daytime TV. Some schools are now talking to young children about sex, different forms of sexual activities, gender dysphoria, and body dysmorphic disorder (Often there is a history of child abuse, neglect, or trauma- 2.5% of girls, 2.2% of boys around age 12 to 13.
