Bettye’s prompt for this month’s Where Bloggers Live was our favorite season. And since I’m an equal opportunity season lover, I thought I’d get reflective about the seasons of your life instead.
Quote of the day: “Who wants to reach the end of their life in a perfectly preserved body? The scars and crinkles and the cracks are what make us interesting.” Bear Grylis
Life is so interesting right, because you think you know so much when you are younger, and as you get on through the seasons of your life you realize that you still don’t know much.
Oh, there are certain things you know. Like your address (usually), where your keys are (most days), and which foods are good for you (depending on which article you read).
Many people refer to our older age as the autumn or winter season of our life. I bet you could share some of the positive aspects regarding autumn or winter. So this season of your life should be no different. There are multiple factors that we should be grateful for.
As a woman with a Pollyanna attitude, I wanted to share those blessings.
Even though this is a Lifestyle and fashion blog, there are many times I like to think and write about life in general. Here are a couple of other examples that may strike your fancy.
You should definitely sign up for the emails below because I share a multitude of positive articles by other people. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.
Many of us were brought up with the rule that we didn’t ask someone’s age. Getting older wasn’t something to be proud of.
But times are changing, and being the age that you are is more than just a blessing.
It’s a privilege. And we need to remember that each and every day.
You may still read article after article about how not to look old, or what not to wear after age 50, but these kinds of articles are HOGWASH.
If you keep reading them, they will keep writing them.
The best way to vote about the things you like to read is only to click and read those that aren’t negative.
Insider tip: If an article has one of those clickbait titles, you can be sure it’s full of nonsense. Ignore it and hope it gets buried for all eternity.
Insider tip: You can’t change the past. I like to think of it that we lived through the things we did to gain the knowledge we have.
There are so many ways to hear other’s perspectives. If we only live in our own heads, then I believe we are in trouble.
1-First and foremost, every person needs to read Breaking the Age Code. It’s not the best title for a book, and after the first couple of chapters, it gets a tad redundant. However, the material is mind-boggling and extremely powerful.
Most books about Aging focus on Diet and Exercise. While that is important, this book shows how our mindset plays a much bigger role than was imagined.
2-Even if you don’t love scrolling through social media channels, the inspiration for being positive in these seasons of your life is tremendous.
No, it’s not about comparing yourself to others or wishing you had more. There are nuggets of Wisdom scattered through the posts.
In fact, I often share these nuggets in my emails, so if you like a daily dose of positivity, make sure to sign up.
3- Talking to women. We may have those crinkles as the quote said, and we might live in a Retirement community, but you can bet your bottom dollar that every woman around has a story. Learning each other’s stories can give you insight into how these seasons of our life should be exalted.
What is Where Bloggers Live? It’s kind of like HGTV’s “Celebrities at Home,” but…Bloggers! Who doesn’t like to peek behind the scenes and hear all about the personal backstories and interesting details?
FYI, we don’t all post at the same time since we all have different schedules and live in different parts of the country.
