Plan for Today, Tomorrow, and the Future
Both personal and business Growth is affected by income, but the question is, to what degree is Money the end-all? One idealistic vision is for everyone to be ethical and upstanding and work for the greater good, in addition to diversity and inclusion being universal. But we all know that is not the case, as not everyone adheres to the thought.
If leaders of all varieties considered the health and well-being of their followers and the people they serve, our world could be better off for it. Success in any endeavor includes research, scientific data as applicable, admitting errors, testing better venues, refining the approach, planning, and following up with strategic decisions for maximizing success.
As an example, consider our unusual weather patterns affecting many to leave them homeless. Worse, insurance companies are caught in the middle of escalating disasters and may go out of business due to control being out of their hands. Due to the ongoing horrific news, I did a Google search regarding the initial statement issued by Al Gore regarding climate change that was instantly belittled and dismissed:
MTP Flashback: In 1993, Al Gore warned about climate change as U.S. temperatures soared. The former Vice President has spent decades calling for action.
Inaction Is Our Enemy
Due to inaction and refusal to examine the scientific facts, the thought was ridiculed and dismissed. How many lives could have been saved or prevented worldwide in countries deteriorating from drought?
The old expression still rings true,
‘An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.’
My Story
The proverb refers to the fact that it is easier to stop something from happening in the first place than to repair the damage after it has happened.
The current smoke from the fires raging in Canada spread to the U.S., creating health issues, including sensations I felt long ago growing up in very smoggy Los Angeles. As a young teen, I would ponder, ‘Why doesn’t anyone in government regulate air quality standards?’ The answer was that companies are too intent on securing their wealth and need more regard for others. But the worst was yet to reveal itself, ‘And you will see that over the years, nothing will change.’
Wealth means nothing if we are not in good health.
Judy Garland sang the song, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, in the movie The Wizard of Oz.
“Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.”
A few decades later, a stark warning about global warming came our way, including its adverse effects on Earth, but sadly most laughed off the idea and ridiculed those who believed in the theory. But here we are today, experiencing the following:
– Severe drought affecting marine life – a photo revealed tens of thousands of fish dead on the shore in Texas.
– Cyclones and tornadoes devastating towns
– Rivers drying up
– Fertile land becoming a desert around the world
– Water and food shortages increase alongside the cost of living
– Poverty increases are substantial, as are statistics for people experiencing homelessness.
The Sinkhole
Part of the fallout is that numerous countries experience debt that is difficult to control. The effect hurts everyone – those associated with business and people at home. Worse, the water is polluted, food prices increase, and more people than ever live in poverty. The homelessness numbers are dramatically up. In the United States, a photo was taken and published along the Texas shoreline, showcasing thousands of dead fish.
One Solution
The better solution is to plan today for tomorrow, the next day, and for future generations. Ignoring facts to grab easy money upfront benefits no one. Theories and ideas come in significant variance, with the science behind most of them. It is now essential to be inclusive of all thoughts to decipher the better strategies ahead.
Your Story: Plan for Today, Tomorrow, and the Future?
Sadly, everyone contributes to the effects of our climate issues that affect us. No matter the type of endeavor, it is best to review habits to eliminate waste and increase efficiencies wherever possible. Additionally, the use of green Technology can improve living conditions.
The sales discipline requires we plan for today, tomorrow, and the future. By embracing the philosophy, it is possible to increase business, but we can also make improvements for our planet.
You may have an idea for new green technology or one that will further improve what is in place; it can be well-worthwhile researching and testing to see if it works well. No matter the field, we are all living in the world together. The motto, ‘One for all, and all for one,’ comes to mind.
In Conclusion: Plan for Today, Tomorrow, and the Future
When we strive to improve our universal surroundings together, we can turn around poor situations for the better. Most of all, it’s time to put greed and a lack of caring aside because we live in one world unless you subscribe to become a space alien. Improving infrastructure, flight processes, and priorities can be our differentiators should we plan for today, tomorrow, and the future.
