Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is to step back and let your soul catch up with your body.
— Pico Iyer
Fifteen years into our 360° Nation quest to rediscover humanity, we face an uncomfortable truth: the very passion that built our global community now obscures our original vision. When devotion clouds purpose, we must stop and ask—are we still seeing clearly?
The world we’ve encountered—increasingly superficial, transactional, extractive—has worn us down. We’ve faced a troubling scarcity of genuine authenticity and shared values. The irony cuts deep: our devotion to rediscovering humanity has become a quiet struggle to preserve our own. This isn’t fatigue that a vacation can fix. This is soul-deep weariness.
Yet we remember what ignited this journey. It was Love—pure, expansive love for human potential and connection. That love still burns within us, but we’ve lost sight of its flame beneath the smoke of exhaustion. This pause is about clearing the air so we can see that original fire again, feel its warmth, and let it guide us forward with the same wonder and hope that started everything.
On March 1, 2026, we’re embarking on a “Radical Sabbatical”—an intentional, courageous pause to create sacred space for genuine renewal. This isn’t a retreat born of defeat. This is a strategic withdrawal born of Wisdom.
Ancient traditions understood what we’ve forgotten: rest is a sacred necessity. Sabbath and jubilee weren’t luxuries—they were essential to sustainable living. Fallow fields return with renewed vigor. Rested souls return with renewed vision.
This choice requires profound self-love. It demands we value our own wholeness as much as we value our mission. It asks us to believe we’re worthy of the same care, attention, and grace we’ve tried to offer others. There’s deep wisdom in recognizing when to push forward and when to pause—and even deeper wisdom in honoring that recognition despite every voice that tells us to keep going. The truth may be the opposite. Genuine momentum—sustainable and aligned with our deepest values—may only be regained through intentional stillness.
In the attitude of silence, the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness.
— Mahatma Gandhi
In this clearing, we’ll gain perspective to distinguish meaningful from habitual. Over fifteen years, patterns calcify. Living practices become rote. Energizing Relationships become obligations. Without reflection, we can’t tell which is which.
Our fatigue isn’t just physical or emotional—it’s a depletion of imagination. Constant execution, responding, maintaining—we’ve lost access to the creative capacity that built this in the first place. This sabbatical regenerates our ability to dream beyond past accomplishments. As Proust observed: “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
What we hope to rediscover is simple but profound: the joy that made this work feel like play. The curiosity that made every conversation an adventure. The sense of possibility that made obstacles feel like invitations. We want to reconnect with the part of ourselves that believed—truly believed—that humanity could be different, and that we could help make it so.
We’re cultivating new eyes—not to see something different, but to see what’s always been there with renewed love and Clarity.
Even in soul-deep weariness, we look back with immense gratitude. We’ve witnessed the incredible power of the human spirit to rise and connect. Our vibrant global community is a living testament to the depth we all crave. This pause isn’t a retreat from success—it’s a celebration of it. A courageous choice to protect the authenticity and shared code we’ve worked so hard to rediscover.
We feel profound privilege for the meaningful relationships we’ve forged. The late-night conversations that changed perspectives. The vulnerable moments that built trust. The shared laughter and tears proved we’re not alone in this human experience. You—our community—have been the greatest gift of this journey. You’ve shown up with open hearts, challenged us to grow, and created a space where real connection isn’t just possible but natural. What we’ve built together isn’t just a network or platform—it’s proof that the world we long for already exists in pockets, in moments, in the spaces between us when we dare to be fully present and fully human.
By choosing intentional stillness, we honor the miracle of our quest and ensure we return with restored spirits and new eyes, ready to serve this beautiful community with renewed energy and deeper wisdom.
This is the deepest way we know to honor our calling. The world doesn’t need our exhaustion. It needs our wholeness. There’s hypocrisy in encouraging others toward authenticity while we operate from a state of depletion and disconnection. We must embody the reconnection we advocate.
We trust—and trust requires courage—that in the revolutionary act of stopping and truly listening, a new vision will emerge. Not manufactured. Natural. We’ll return when timing feels organic, when the fallow period has done its work.
This sabbatical is itself an act of love—love for the mission that has given our lives meaning, love for the community that has trusted us with their time and hearts, and love for ourselves as imperfect humans doing our best to live in alignment with our values. Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is admit we need help, rest, and renewal. Sometimes honoring what we’ve built means protecting it from our own Burnout.
Your understanding during this season means everything. The relationships we’ve built over fifteen years are precious. We’re deeply grateful for the grace you extend as we take this necessary pause.
You’ve been more than community—you’ve been companions, teachers, mirrors, and friends. You’ve shown us what’s possible when people choose depth over superficiality, when they risk real connection despite the vulnerability it requires. Every conversation, every shared story, every moment of genuine presence has shaped not just this mission but who we are as human beings.
We don’t take lightly the trust you’ve placed in us or the time you’ve invested in this shared vision. That’s precisely why we must do this—to return to you whole, clear, and capable of serving this community with the full presence and passion it deserves.
We look forward to sharing whatever healing and insight we gain with you—a community we’ve been privileged to serve and learn from. We carry you with us into this clearing, and we’ll return with hearts full of whatever wisdom this pause reveals.
Until then, we will rest. We will listen. We will allow our souls to catch up with our bodies. And we will trust in the wisdom of the pause.
