As I walked out onto our patio to enjoy a new day over my morning coffee, I discovered something exciting. A surprise that filled my heart with joy and hope. My orchid is showing tiny buds again! Not just one bud but several! They haven’t opened yet — but they’re there, quietly forming, full of promise. I know the blooms are coming. I just have to wait. I had given up on seeing future blooms as the orchid has been lying dormant since we moved from the Gold Coast almost three years ago. I should have had faith. The Promise of Blooming This small discovery once again reminded me of how sparks of joy can be found in daily life. It also reminded me about life and how there is always hope. Isn’t that how it feels for many of us after 50? There are moments when we’re not quite in full bloom — but we sense something awakening. A stirring of joy. A whisper of new beginnings. Those little “buds” in our lives — a new interest, a regained confidence, an idea that sparks excitement — remind us that it’s never too late to grow, to change, to flourish. […]
