
April and May are both birthday months in our Family. We recently celebrated my daughter’s birthday and on Sunday we had a birthday celebration for my grandson, Ethan who turns 11 on 28th. In my Sparks of Joy #28 post, I wrote about The Lindt Ball Cheesecake That Came from a Chat which I made for my daughter. Creating a Soccer Ball Cake Each year I make a themed birthday cake for my grandsons and this year, Ethan requested a Soccer Ball Cake. ”Sure, I said” as I usually do and then realise it may not be as easy as it looks. However, with the aid of a Youtube video and some creative assistance from my sous baking chef, Mike, the cake turned out really well and although not perfect, I was very happy with the result. I’m not a professional cake decorator by any means, but I give it a try and as long as the recipient is happy, then I’m happy. It brings me great joy to make the cakes and then feel the excitement and anticipation of how it will be received.
