In this week’s episode, I dive into what turning 47 means to me—not just as an age but as a metaphor for resilience, individuality, and Growth. I explore how embracing our indivisibility and unique journeys helps us stay true to who we are. I unpack the challenges of seeking validation, managing comparison, and navigating setbacks. I also share 5 Essential Questions to help you embrace your midlife prime with confidence and purpose.

Key Talking Points:

  • 47 as a Prime Number: How this metaphor reflects individuality, resilience, and self-worth.
  • The Journey of Self-Discovery: Reflecting on accomplishments like sobriety, global Travel, and podcasting while acknowledging the struggles of Anxiety, impostor syndrome, and setbacks.
  • Validation and Social Media: Balancing external affirmation with internal self-worth in a world of likes, follows, and FOMO.

Billy Lahr The Mindful Midlife Crisis Podcast

Billy Lahr is currently the host of The Mindful Midlife Crisis, a podcast for people navigating the complexities and possibilities of life’s second half. Billy spent 21 years as an educator but became disenfranchised the last half due to budding mental health concerns and lack of job satisfaction. In 2021, Billy left his job as dean of students in order to travel the world in search of more meaningful life experiences. Since then, Billy has been focused on helping others navigate their own midlife crisis more mindfully through practical and intentional daily routines that focus on consistency, discipline, and mindful awareness.
