1. Enjoy a Cup of Comfort with Trish Laub Christopher MacLellan 49:42

Award-winning author Trish Laub’s expertise is derived from the full-time care of her parents, one with Alzheimer’s and one with stage 4 cancer, for whom she delivered the care and end of life they desired. She served not only as a hands-on Caregiver but also as the manager of both of her parents’ daily and medical care, as well as their in-home caregivers and overall care team. She has gone on to assist many others through their care journey.

Trishs’ “Comfort in Their Journey” book series provides the clear, concise, and easily accessible information that she wishes had been available to her. She now leads presentations and workshops and offers consulting services on the subjects covered in the books, and hosts a bi-monthly live radio show A Cup of Comfort™ during which she and her guests talk about everything related to providing dignified care, including sometimes the uncomfortable topics.

You Might Know Me As The Bow Tie Guy - "Wearing a bow tie is like wearing two smiles."

When people ask me, "why did you create the Whole Care Network"... I always come back to our caregiving experience and how fortunate I was to find resources that helped me and my partner Richard Schiffer manage our caregiving journey. Every caregiver has a story; through our stories, we find validation, resources, and respite to help manage our caregiving day.

We were fortunate to have our story chronicled in a 2015 Pulitzer Prize-nominated 3-part story, “In Sickness and In Health: A Couple’s Final Journey,” which told our journey of caregiving. The story told of the challenges LGBT partners have in dealing with the medical and legal system, but it also told of the love and joy my partner Richard's last years had on our relationship.
