Chris Campion is British Author, journalist, and editor whose work has been published in the Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Rolling Stone, and Vice. Chris Campion is an archivist for the Estate of Bud Lee, the Editor of “The War is Here “and contributes an essay on Bud Lee and the story behind the photographs, entitled, ‘On Avon, Between Badger and Livingston. “

Bud Lee was a self-taught photographer who first took up a camera professionally in the military and received fine art training at the National Academy in New York. Between 1967 and 1974, he worked for Life, Esquire, Rolling Stone, The Sunday Times, and many other publications, somehow finding himself at the center of some of the biggest stories of the time.

Betsy and Chris discussed what went on in Newark, New Jersey when the National Guard was called in to patrol the streets, and how there is now a difference in accountability concerning police actions. There were 26 people killed during the five-day riots and Chris discussed what started the riots and gave some historical background about what happened during those five days.
