When I was a child, asthma was just considered part of my life.
My parents did the best they could with the information they had. Most parents do. ❤️
That’s why I was so excited to see healthcare professionals like Octavio bringing more attention to emerging research around ultra-processed foods and childhood asthma.
A recent study found that children with the highest intake of ultra-processed foods had a significantly higher risk of developing asthma compared to those with the lowest intake. (Wiley Online Library)
What I wish more moms knew is this:
You have choices.
For years, we were told that fast food was the convenient option. But when I began my own healing journey, I discovered something surprising…
Whole foods can actually be faster.
A smoothie.
Fresh fruit.
A giant salad.
A simple plant-based meal.
Many of these take less time than waiting in a drive-thru line.
Today, I also use nutrient-dense whole food products as part of my daily routine because they’re quick, affordable, and help support a healthy gut microbiome and overall wellness.
I personally healed my childhood asthma, and while every person’s journey is unique, I believe our bodies are incredibly wise when we give them the support they need.
This isn’t about blaming parents.
It’s about empowering them.
Because when we know better, we can choose differently.
And every mom deserves to know that there may be another path. 💜
Did asthma affect you or someone you Love growing up? I’d love to hear your story below.
