The Journey from Identity to Love: A Conversation with Troy Hadeed

Welcome to Doing Business with a Servant’s Heart. I’m your host, Steve Ramona. Every episode is an invitation—a powerful reminder that business and life are not just about profit. They’re about purpose. They’re about showing up with a servant’s heart in every deal, every decision, every day, to make a powerful impact on others.

Today, that impact stretches all the way from the Caribbean.

The Wake-Up Call: What If You’ve Already Been Practicing Yoga Without Knowing It?

When you hear “yoga,” what comes to mind? For most, it’s physical postures, maybe a serene room with incense and soft music. But according to my guest, Troy Hadeed—a yoga teacher, spiritual guide, and author based in Trinidad—that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Troy dropped a profound truth bomb: “Yoga is Love.”

Not the soft, romanticized version we often see in movies. Real love. Fierce love. Uncomfortable love. The kind of love that calls us to dissolve separation and serve something greater than ourselves.

And here’s the twist: You might already be practicing yoga without even realizing it. Every time you serve with intention, listen without judgment, or act from compassion—you’re living the essence of yoga.

The Turning Point: From the Jungle to the Heart

Troy’s story is not just about teachings. It’s about embodiment. At 21, he walked coast to coast across Central America, battling rain, fatigue, and inner resistance. He even tried to fake a Family emergency just to leave. But what he discovered in the jungle wasn’t just endurance. It was faith.

He realized that misery can be laced with love. That we can either drag ourselves through life, or engage with it. And when we choose to engage, transformation begins.

The Vision: My Name Is Love

Troy’s book, My Name Is Love, challenges our obsession with identity. Titles, races, religions, political leanings—these labels, he argues, often separate us more than unite us. His question is simple: What if we lived from a place where love was our only identity?

What if we saw beyond the noise of our minds—the ego-driven chatter of fear, status, and survival—and began hearing the voice of something higher?

That’s where the real yoga begins.

Your Opportunity: The Homework That Changes Lives

Troy left us with a bold reflection: “How dare we not try—every day—to be a light in a world that appears dark?”

He’s not asking for perfection. He’s inviting us to show up. To pause. To breathe. To love even when it’s uncomfortable.

So here’s your homework:

  1. Serve yourself – Try five minutes of stillness. Breathe. Journal. Do a simple yoga pose. Begin building a relationship with your mind.

  2. Serve someone else – Send this podcast to a friend who needs more light today.

  3. Choose love – Not just the easy kind. The courageous, inconvenient kind. The kind that changes the room.

Your Next Step: Join the Ripple Effect

This episode isn’t just another conversation. It’s a spark. And sparks need fuel.

Steve

Steve Ramona Doing Business with a Servant's Heart

Steve Ramona discovered his calling at a young age and is now on a mission to share his secret sauce for success. He thrives on forging meaningful connections, sharing referrals, and watching people flourish.

His contagious passion for the Law of Increase makes his podcast "Doing Business with a Servant's Heart" so successful. This show is chock-full of inspiring stories about overcoming challenges and serving others.

Steve has a knack for spreading good vibes and elevating those around him. He learned from his dad that the entrepreneurial spirit is a great way to make money. I can share stories of how people serve, struggle and win. We all must overcome something, so why not learn to serve and overcome it much faster? I learned early working in our Health Club the importance of customer service. I learned that the more I served it was a win-win for everyone. I enjoy working with people, referring people, and helping people grow. The Law of Increase is my mission when I network around the world.

I love to mentor business people and offer all the resources I have. To win, you must grow yourself first; then, you can share this with others! I am an avid reader and have built a large book directory on sharing with others.
