What Story Are You Telling Yourself

What kind of story are you telling yourself over and over again? The story that I am talking about is the one that we are telling ourselves repeatedly. A story that lives up in our heads.

Now, the question is, is it a story of limiting beliefs or empowering beliefs. I want to invite you to really think about your Hero’s Journey story. The story of someone who conquers the world, a story of someone who has success, a story of someone who lives life fully on their terms, a story of someone that serves, a story of someone who pursues their passion.

WHAT STORY ARE YOU TELLING YOURSELF?

Unfortunately, many of us have a story of regret, pity, and really limiting beliefs of who we think we are and what we can do. And if we have that villain within us that tries to tear us down, we have to fight it. We have to fight that villain within who says: “Who do you think you are? That has already been done. You never could do this. You don’t have the Education. You’re too old. You’re too young.”  Whatever it may be.

But here is the good news. We have full control over those thoughts up there, over the stories that we are telling ourselves.

Now, does it take work? You bet it does. I’ve worked on it for years because I used to have many limiting beliefs, and I still have a few from time to time, but I now know how to overcome them quickly.

I was always cheerful and enthusiastic. But for one reason or another, there were always those limiting beliefs, negative self-talk, and doubts. I couldn’t shake them off.

Until I realized that a lot of that stuff is not even mine. It’s something that lies in my subconscious mind created when I was just a child by all the other outside forces. And once I realized that I could make a change in how I see it, everything changed.

Again, everything begins with awareness. If you are not aware of your circumstances and your thoughts, you cannot change them. So that is the first thing.

We can change it. So how do we do this?

We create a new story!  Here is the good news. You don’t have to wait for someone or something to change it because YOU are the creator of your stories. Yes, you are.

So if you want to create a story, create your hero’s story. Create that hero you wish to become. And then really paint that picture of how you see yourself in the future with all the details.

If you want to learn more about creating your Hero Story, schedule a Free Strategy Session with one of my team members or myself.
