Jazz Saxophonist Timo Vollbrecht on the 2025 CD Breman New York

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Saxophonist Timo Vollbrecht discussing his 2025 live album Bremen New York. We first caught up with Timo back in 2022, and now he returns with his first-ever live recording — an album that’s entirely live yet showcases a rare kind of perfection. Composed specifically for the concert hall he knew so well, Bremen New York features a stellar lineup including Ralph Alessi, and captures the spirit of classic live records by legends like Joe Henderson and Keith Jarrett. Originally from Berlin, Timo moved to New York 15 years ago to study, perform, and shape his artistic identity — and that journey is in full bloom on this release. We dig deep into his process, inspirations, and evolution. Enjoy this insightful conversation.
