This Sandset review comes after I signed up for their affiliate program last year. I had seen the viral videos all over my social media channels (because obviously it’s right up my alley), and was very interested in trying out the dress. However, at the time when I talked about it (it was when I was challenged with a statement sleeve dress from Just Be Youtiful), the company was limited in its colors. However, they have replenished their colors and offered to send me one.
Quote of the day: “Old ways won’t open new doors.” Unknown
You know how I always say that versatility is one of the best things you can look for in a wardrobe piece? I consider the Sandsest dress a magical piece of clothing that’s like a fashion chameleon since it can transform from a dress to a top, to a skirt, to a duster.
Even if you Love this idea, it’s always nice to hear the insider scoop before you purchase something like it, right?
Let’s talk about my SandSet review, because if you haven’t heard of this brand or their signature piece yet, you’ll be amazed at all of the possibilities.

SandSet is the brand behind this incredibly unique piece of clothing, which can be styled over 20 different ways. Think of it like a blank canvas with stretchy fabric, clever design details, and unlimited outfit potential. The piece itself is a single garment that can be origami-ed into a variety of looks ranging from chic dresses to edgy skirts, trendy tops, and even flowy kimonos.
Considering I talk about all the ways to style the item in this Sandset review, I thought it beneficial for you to see the actual item laid flat and how I hang it in my closet (with the booklet right on the hanger).
Insider tip: In fact, if you’re enterprising, you could create your own dress like this if you could find the right material for the job. It just has a slit near the top, and 2 ties.
I think one of the best surprises when I received my Sandset dress was the booklet included with it, which shares QR codes that link to 20 how-to videos/photos. That means you don’t have to remember how to transform the item yourself.
This also means you’re not left staring at the fabric wondering how to begin your fashion origami. Trust me, the videos make a big difference.
My emails are my way to share fun and positive content with you from all of the sites I visit during the week. Sure, you also get my free eBook when you sign up, but that’s not the best part.
The best part is you get a daily dose of positive energy.

I always like to give you the insider scoop, so here’s my take on the SandSet garment:
Pros:
Cons:
Just like I love showing 3 ways to wear something, I couldn’t resist going a little overboard with this one. The styling possibilities seem endless, but let me walk you through some of my favorite looks that are NOT in the booklet:
If you want to see how I origami-ed the piece for each of these, here is the FB video showing these “Jodie” options.

Worn open like a lightweight duster, I let the long tails hang down the front.

By folding the material in half, I shortened the skirt, and the ends created an asymmetrical hemline.

I pulled one side over my shoulder and used the ties as a belt.

By scrunching up the material, you can create a multitude of different belt options.

Draping over your shoulders and then using the ties as a belt can create a top with sleeves.

As the material is so stretchy, I knotted the fabric in 2 places in the front to make this mini dress.

2 different variations for this hi-low top to create some drama.
And just so you get an idea of the “normal” ways of styling it that are included in the booklet, here are 3 options.
Most of the options are variations of these, with the ties and the cutout in different places.

This is by far the easiest transformation and creates a beautiful maxi skirt.

With or without a t-shirt underneath, this type of dress is very easy with the material.

I wore it high across the chest and criss-crossed the ties behind my back and then in front to create this strapless dress.
I know I always advocate for “wear what makes you feel good,” which makes me describe this SandSet piece as empowering in the most unexpected way.
You feel creative when you’re styling it.
You feel like you’re getting more bang for your buck.
And you feel seen—because you’re not just blending in, you’re standing out in a look that’s unique to how you tied it that day.
It’s also perfect for:
I’m sure it’s no surprise that my final SandSet review verdict is positive. And the fact is that the styling is not rocket science.
When I first ordered the item, I was worried I would have to figure out all of the ways to style it. While that’s not impossible for me, I LOVE that it comes with its own style booklet.
Two enthusiastic thumbs up for versatility, style, and creativity.
You know, I’m a sucker for transformative items. If you want to see more ideas for transforming the same piece, then here are some other examples:
-A print dress changed up with many layering options and one transformative idea.
-Flowy maxi skirt as a dress, tunic, and more.
–Convertible dress because of the sleeves.
–Wrap silk skirt with 2 sides.
And if you like the idea of this type of transformative power, there are other brands that have similar capabilities:
Amazon-They call it a bridesmaid dress, but there’s no reason anyone can’t wear it every day.
eBay-Convertible maxi dress.
Even Walmart has one with a convertible neckline.
If you’re feeling adventurous with your fashion or just want to stretch your closet (literally and figuratively), I have to admit this is going to be a favorite for you, too.
