Daily Looks: Week Ending 8.1.25

It was a mishmash of colors and styles this week, but I did have a Love affair with brooches almost all week. Especially a new, large one recently purchased at Just Be Youtiful.

My emails are my way of sharing fun and positive content with you from all the sites I visit during the week. Sure, you also get my free eBook when you sign up, but that’s not the best part.
The best part is you get a daily dose of positive energy.

SATURDAY

I wore this mini dress by itself in Puerto Rico as one of the dinner time looks, but today it felt a tad too short.

So I set about finding a skirt that I could layer under it. It took 3 tries, but I opted with this one I’ve worn to showcase dark colors in the summer.

BTW, I would have worn a hat or put my hair up since it was a mess, but I had a headache.

I wanted a contrast with my shoes and glasses. I could have worn bright pink, orange, even kelly green, but I opted for bright yellow.

SUNDAY

There was a time when I struggled with what to wear with this skirt. It was back 20 years ago (right when Rob and I were first together), and I only knew about matching.

I could never find a top that was creamy enough to match the lighter color.

NOW is a different story. Now, I realize that non-matching opens up your closet like you wouldn’t believe.
Heck, I’ve even featured this skirt with my color recipe in the past.

Today, I featured it with this rust red top (from our recent thrift trip) and some clip-on earrings at the square neckline.

My leopard and red shoes were a fun twist, and then a couple of turquoise accents.

MONDAY

When I posted the video of our recent thrifting adventure, one of the commenters told me I should wear this crop top by itself.
So I am.

With striped ruffled pants from Just Be Youtiful that cover most of my midriff.

I also added a big brooch at the waist and 2 smaller brooches at each strap to add bling (because every day deserves bling).

I kept it simple with navy sandals.

TUESDAY

Somehow, I must be on a blue kick this week. I’ll have to work in different colors for the rest of the week.

I wanted to wear this silky tank top that I recently thrifted, and I figured it would be a fun dichotomy to pair it with casual overall shorts.

You can see that usually I wear either a scarf or a belt around my waist with these overalls, but it creates a disadvantage for bathroom breaks.

When I had them as long jeans (before I cut them off to be shorts), I also wore a brooch at the waist.

Today, I took a page from my friend, Valerie, and threaded a necklace through the front loops only so it’s easy for on/off (shown in this TT video).

I wore colorful sandals, earrings, and glasses …and yes, my hair is a mess. I’ll be doing something about that after breakfast.

WEDNESDAY

I blame Marsha for buying this top…talk about not taking responsibility for my own actions, LOL.
Anyways, she wore this print recently, and while the company didn’t have the same style in stock, they did have this version, which I snapped up.

The colors of the print drew me to it, but discovering that it was made of cotton and had ties at the hem made it even more ideal. For some reason, I love a top where I don’t have to decide whether to tuck or not. (and just because the model is showing her belly, doesn’t mean that’s how I have to wear it…If you love high-waisted items, or are short-waisted, then shorter tops are great.)

I paired it with this maxi (worn for a graduation party) and these thrifted sandals.

The hair tie is a self-belt from a sequin dress, and while the brooch may be unnecessary, I believe in sparkle.

THURSDAY

I love these pants and have worn them many times. Recently, I showed a white button-down styled with them from our rattan purse article.

I always remember a Pinterest pin that I saved from years ago showing a woman wearing a grey shirt with a printed fabric pair of pants, and it’s stuck with me since.

The t-shirt has the same color graphic on it, and then I added a clip-on earring at the “v”.

These jelly sandals have been a summer favorite. They are like wearing nothing yet having a cushion on your feet.

FRIDAY

So much to say about this look…so little time.

First, I shortened the sleeves on this recently thrifted top. You saw a half-baked screenshot of it in my email, but here is the live 5 min. video if you want to check it out.
I was very proud of myself for using the sleeve material I cut off to make a trim around the raw material.

Because it’s cropped, I paired it with high-waisted loosey goosey shorts.

But it wasn’t tickling my fancy, so I added a bunch of brooches all over. While it seemed more obvious in person, they don’t stand out as much in this photo, so I added a close-up at the top.
(I have 1 on each collar end to hold them down, 3 down the front of the shirt, and 1 brooch at the waistband of the shorts)

Tan sandals and a pink hat for a very monochromatic look.

Thank you
