Daily Looks: Week Ending 6.20.25

There are 2 distinct ways that I get inspiration for my daily outfits.
1-I try to wear my “new” items first and foremost, otherwise they get tucked in the closet and forgotten.
2-Many times I will pull out a piece to style with something else and it doesn’t work. But I keep it out to work on styling it with other things.
There is a #3 type of inspiration in Tuesday’s look.

Every day except Monday used either #1 or #2.

My emails are my way to share fun and positive content with you from all of the sites I visit during the week. Sure, you also get my free eBook when you sign up, but that’s not the best part.
The best part is you get a daily dose of positive energy.

SATURDAY

The top was a reject from my mom. She thrifted it but didn’t try it on, and it didn’t fit her right. So she passed it on to me.

Thus #1 for inspiring this look.

The top really wasn’t my “style” but I decided to see if I could make it work.
Here’s what I did to give the outfit “Jodieism“.

I pulled one side down to make it a one-sleeve top. Hooked both the sleeve and bra strap with a cardigan pin after cuffing the sleeve.
-Wore a colorful mini skirt (which was out because I thought of wearing it last week, so also a #2)
-Added 2 belts (a self belt and chain belt wrapped around each other)
-Mixed gold and silver
-Put a scarf around my ponytail

SUNDAY

A good example of how taking a selfie can be helpful…

This skirt was from my thrifting adventures last week, and I Love how flowy it is.

#1 because the skirt is “new to me.”

The red vest was sitting on my rack because I thought I was going to wear it one day, but I didn’t (which is #2). It’s a tad big, so I decided to overlap the front panels and pin them with various brooches.

When I took this photo, I realized that the buttons were competing, so I flipped the panels so the buttons were underneath and tried again (top photo).

Cognac sandals seem so perfect with the warm colors I tend to wear.

And I wore a bralette under the vest with my double sticky bra inserts. Another lesson…I wasn’t hip on these inserts when I first bought them because they were different from what I thought, but I have found many useful times to wear them.

MONDAY

Today is our favorite workout class, but then we had massages afterwards. This means we will stop somewhere for lunch, and I wanted to still look cute.

That’s why I grabbed this athletic skirt/skort (seen with a corset this spring), and I wore my sports bra from our dog walking.

Then I added this sleeveless top and “Jodied” it
-tucked the collar under to create a “v”
-tied the end flat by using a scarf clip.
You can see the changes in this FB video.

I pulled the orange from my sports bra into the outfit with my shoes and baseball cap, and even wore small earrings.

TUESDAY

The 3 of us have this tunic dress in 3 different colors and have shown modifications on how to wear it.
And I had to laugh when this young girl wore a longer one and felt like a flying squirrel in it (she then upcycled it).

Okay, so this is inspiration #3 when I see someone else wearing something similar to what I have and want to style it.

It’s a tad low in the “v” neck portion, so I decided to create a one-shoulder dress from it.

I wrapped the extra material and used a magnet to hold it.

Black strappy sandals and gold earrings were the final pieces.

WEDNESDAY

This yellow/grey blazer was one of my $2 items from my thrift adventure last week. And thus #1 inspiration.
I wore it over a JBY version of a half-t-shirt top (one that doesn’t cover the midriff but can add coverage to the arms and neckline).
If you like Halftees, JBY’s version is about half the cost. (Send her an email at [email protected] to find out the sizes and colors still available.)

I paired the blazer with these orchid colored shorts. I tried longer shorts, but they looked wrong proportion-wise.

Then I added white, sparkly sandals and pink earrings.
BTW, this style of sandals is from my comfy brand, and is on the discontinued style site where you can get an extra discount with code COMFY10.

FRIDAY

The pants were from my recent thrifting adventure, so again #1 inspiration.

Luckily, they needed shortening because the hemline was very stained.

I paired them with this lime green top (I purchased it from the time I used a rental clothing site).

Then I added my new blue Croc sandals, which I have to admit are fabulous. I rarely purchase 2 of the same style of things, but I might get another pair. They come in other colors in a similar style.
For the price, they are so comfy and they don’t cover much of my foot (important in our 100+ degree heat).
