Healing Medicine: Lily & the Bones

Lily fully embodies the healing art of taking a nap. In her siesta on a sizzling summer afternoon, she snuggled up with the medicine bundle for Throwing the Bones Ceremony.

She’s so completely at peace, fully content in her body and whole being. Resting. Pausing. Taking deep breaths. Dreaming. Metabolizing life experiences. Regenerating. Transforming at the cellular level. Reconnecting and readying for whatever comes next.

She’s in close communion with the spirits, weaving fibers of connection from cat heart to many hearts. Her furry head and velvety ears nestle into the bobcat hide, the sacred wrapping for the ceremonial bundle. Coziness. Comfort. Communicating without words.

Imagine the stories being shared. What magic and mystery are happening beyond what the eyes can see?

Picture the wide-ranging ripple effects of such deep contentment, the interwoven web of respectful Relationships, a shared sacredness of being ~ an extraordinary field of experience and knowledge rippling on and on and on, touching life.

Feel what comes alive in the resting and pausing and reconnection, with spaciousness for everybody’s freedom to be.

Notice the instinctive slowing down, in the midst of a world perpetually on edge fueled by urgency and force, and the expectation that the only way forward is to hurry and rush and speed everything up.

See how natural it is to connect with the spirits, to seek close-in relationships with ancestors, ceremonial ways, and all kinds of beings who share all kinds of guidance and gifts.

In times of spiraling waves of change, when seeking to find our footing as we navigate new terrain, the simple and sweet, loving, nourishing medicines are essential for each and every step.
