Standing at the Threshold of What’s Next

Sometimes life clears the path not by adding more, but by quietly removing what you’ve outgrown. — Ipek Williamson

They say life moves in seven-year rhythms. Patterns complete themselves. Identities shift. Something in us quietly rearranges.

In 2018, I closed the door on a two-decade career as an executive assistant and stepped into a completely new chapter of my life. I didn’t know what it would become. I only knew I was ready to live with greater alignment, purpose, and presence.

Seven years later, 2025 arrived with its own unmistakable theme: endings. Not dramatic ones. Not losses. Completions.

The kind of endings that make room for something new. Even if we do not yet know its shape.

This year, several chapters that once shaped me came to their natural close. Communities I belonged to. Roles I held. Platforms I contributed to. Spaces where I poured years of care and energy.

Positive Intelligence ended for me. My Facebook account disappeared overnight. The Ultimate Coach Podcast, a place of meaning and connection, recorded its final episode.

None of these endings was planned. Some arrived gently. Some arrived suddenly. But together, they revealed a deeper message: a cycle had completed its arc.

Endings Are Teachers

What I discovered this year is that endings are rarely about what is leaving. They are about what we no longer need to carry. They are about identity. Permission. Space.

They remind us that Growth is not only about adding more. Sometimes it is about releasing what once belonged to an earlier version of us.

And when several endings come in a cluster, they invite a question: Who am I now, without the roles that once defined me? What remains when the familiar structures fall away?

This year asked to sit with those questions, gently and honestly. It showed me that wholeness doesn’t come from holding on. It comes from allowing life to change its rhythm.

A New Cycle Begins

What surprised me most was not the endings themselves but the sense of calm that followed. As if the future had been waiting behind a door I hadn’t realized was closed.

With every completion, there was more Clarity. More space to think. More capacity to create. More room for deeper work with clients. More intention in how I use my voice, my time, my energy.

And quietly, steadily, a new foundation is forming… One that feels more aligned with who I have become since 2018.

This next seven-year cycle will not be built on momentum; it will be built on presence. It will not be shaped by what others expect; it will be shaped by what feels true. It will not repeat old patterns; it will emerge from a new level of awareness.

I don’t need to know all the details. The clarity will reveal itself as I walk.

A Reflection for You

As this year closes, I invite you to look at your own life with the same gentle curiosity:

  • What has completed its purpose?
  • What wants to rest?
  • What identity are you ready to release?
  • What new rhythm is calling you forward?

Endings are not interruptions. They are invitations. They are the quiet turning points that shift the direction of our lives.

This year reminded me that I am allowed to grow beyond who I have been — and so are you.

May the coming year bring you endings that make space, beginnings that feel true, and the courage to let life guide you into your next chapter with ease and trust.
