Hi Everyone,
Jimmy here, Cofounder of Joe & Bella. As Valentine’s Day approaches, I want to share a deeply personal story that inspired our mission.
Several years ago, my late grandfather had an emergency hip replacement after a fall. For two weeks, he was separated from my grandmother – his wife of 62 years – while he recovered in rehab. My family will never forget the moment they were reunited at their assisted-living community: both in wheelchairs, tears Streaming down her face, as they embraced. Their love, tested by time and challenges, only grew stronger.
That moment reminded me why we created Joe & Bella. After the surgery, dressing became an even greater struggle for my grandfather. And, as I’ve written about before, dressing was even more painful for my grandmother, due to her significant mobility limitations. Their morning routine, once simple, now tested both their patience and resolve. That’s why we’re passionate about designing clothes that help preserve independence and dignity.
This Valentine’s Day, I find myself thinking about what a difference our adaptive wear could have made for my grandparents. I can imagine my grandfather chuckling with delight each time he would hear the magnetic zipper latch on our Signature Zip-Up Sweater click closed. And I know my grandmother would have loved our Berry-colored Signature Cardigan (her favorite color!), which would have made dressing effortless while maintaining the elegance that was so important to her.
These aren’t just clothes – they’re gifts of independence, dignity, and easier mornings together. If you’re looking for a meaningful Valentine’s gift that brings both practical comfort and joy to someone special in your life, we’d love to help with a special offer.
