I know everyone is having a heat wave, so you might be surprised by some of my outfit options. But when it’s this hot outside, the stores crank the AC, so I need the coverage.
My emails are my way of sharing fun, positive content with you from all of the sites I visit during the week. Sure, you also get my free eBook when you sign up, but that’s not the best part.
The best part is you get a daily dose of positive energy.

SATURDAY
Because of our friend’s wedding yesterday, I wanted to wear this skirt in remembrance of his wife, who passed.
I was given a box of fabric and sewing supplies, and found that Joanne had started sewing this dress. I cut off the top and finished it to make a skirt (I even added pockets).
Then I wore it with 2 layered tops from Planet By Lauren G., the frayed tank over the boxy tee.
I wore my Converse sneakers with my pearl socks and my large hand-painted daisy earrings.
Discount for Planet by Lauren G is JODIEFILOGOMO
SUNDAY
It may look like a skirt, but these are actually pants from Kantha Bae…made out of recycled Indian silk sarees. I just Love that idea of recycling.
I wore them with my handknit vest that is layered over a short-sleeve top (worn with lime green in the past)
Pink platform sandals, along with bold silver jewelry.

MONDAY
I’m off to give a presentation about Shopping Your Closet.
Since you all can’t be there, might I suggest my blog post series on the same concept?
While my written articles are a tad different, most of the concepts are the same: Color, Stop categorizing, and Layering.
I wore this leopard pleated skirt that I showcased about wearing leopard in both the summer and winter.
I decorated my topper (from Just Be Youtiful) with brooches and wore a bright color under it. As well as orange sandals, my newest thrifted bracelet, and statement earrings.
TUESDAY
This is my dog walking outfit, and I’m going to Yogalates, so I figured it was good.
Just for fun, I added a couple of accessories (which I’ll take off during class)…a brooch and bracelet.
These workout shorts are wide and almost look like a skirt, and I really love the “V” in the front of the waistband.

WEDNESDAY
Both the dress and cardigan UNDER it are from Just Be Youtiful from our trip yesterday.
As I always say, when you think layering, think OVER and UNDER. While we usually layer a cardigan over something, why not layer it under something…basically, you’re treating it as a shirt.
I tied the dress’s ties in the back tight to open it up so my plaid skirt would show.
I’ve showcased this skirt in the fall with socks and a sweater.
Then I used pink as an accent color with my sandals and jewelry.
THURSDAY
These are the new linen blend pants I bought from Just Be Youtiful.
I decided to go matchy-matchy a bit with a rust colored top. This top used to be Lesley’s from one of our clothing boxes (seen here)
I had to origami it a bit to work with the outfit (I pulled the bottom hem UP over the neckline to create a different look. Then I pinned the bottom with this architectural brooch.
I also wore this green vintage necklace (even though there is no green in the rest of the look…although there is a bit in the landscape design of the pants).
The heels were needed because the pants are a bit long. I haven’t decided whether to shorten them (maybe remove the writing border?).

FRIDAY
I wanted to wear my striped gauchos from Planet by Lauren G one more time before I sent them back.
And thus I decided a patriotic look was in order.
You’ve seen this top when I first received it from my fashion box, and the jacket I’ve had since Denver (worn at the Capitol).
I’ll need the jacket at dog training because the venue is very chilly.
But I’ll take it off for the rest of the day, which is why I added a “ruching” to the top so it had more interest (you know, the embroidery isn’t enough, LOL).
Red rope sandals and statement earrings finish it off.
My goal with my daily looks post is to find things that help inspire you with my daily outfits and to bring a smile and kindness to your life. I truly think clothing is our way to express our personality visually.
