David Stamler, M.D., Chief Executive Officer
David Stamler, M.D. is Chief Executive Officer and a Managing Director, and previously served as Alterity’s Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President, Clinical Development. Dr Stamler has extensive drug development expertise spanning early-stage research through late-stage clinical trials, with three FDA drug approvals in neurology.
Prior to joining Alterity, Dr. Stamler served as the Vice President, Clinical Development and Therapeutic Head for Movement Disorders at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries after Teva acquired Auspex Pharmaceuticals where he was Chief Medical Officer.
Prior to Auspex, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at XenoPort, Inc., and Head of Drug Development at Prestwick Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Before Prestwick, Dr. Stamler worked at Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Co. and its subsidiaries in various leadership roles, including Vice President, Research and Development, Medical Sciences at Fujisawa Healthcare, Inc., and as Vice President, Clinical Research Center at Fujisawa Research Institute of America. Dr. Stamler began his career at Abbott Laboratories where he served in various positions including Director of Clinical Research, Pharmaceutical Products for the International Division.
Dr. Stamler received an M.D. from the University of Chicago—The Pritzker School of Medicine and a B.A. in Biology from the University of Chicago.
