Daily Looks: Week Ending 11.15.2024
One of the things I was thinking about with my daily outfits is how they could be a tryout for an upcoming event. For instance, my outfit on Wednesday would be perfect for a holiday party. By wearing it ahead of time, I can make sure it’s comfortable and works for the situation.
Sunday
I’m not sure I’m loving this look. I wanted to wear 2 items that I received in my recent rental clothing box, but maybe that wasn’t the best idea.
Individually the vest and skirt are fabulous and fit well, and together I thought it would be like double denim. But now, I’m not sure.
Here’s the rest of my thinking when I put it together: I added a colorful, thin sweater that I’ve had since my working days. Then I used that same color for my ankle booties.
To give it more extra and sass, I included this incredible brooch that Valerie gave me for my 10-year blogaversary.
I wore the faux fur wristlets to keep warm, and I think they bookend my hair color nicely. FYI, they come in a wide variety of colors, and the ones I am wearing are the Raccoon color.
Monday
We are off to Yogalates (a combination of Pilates and Yoga) yet we need to stop at the grocery store afterward.
Therefore, just like last week, I wore a pretty sweater with my leggings instead of a ratty sweatshirt.
I think it’s good to change our mindset that just because everything is more casual, doesn’t mean we have to join along.
All 3 of us have this sweater and wore it with various bottoms including shorts, jeans, and a skirt.
There’s a lot of print mixing going on, and that is exactly why I wore white sneakers with it. But I love how it looks.
Tuesday
Here’s a color combination that I don’t see much. The colors are lilac and brown.
These brown joggers are like a corduroy in appearance yet so much softer. I called them Chenille, and they are perfect for Tai Chi today.
I wanted to wear this fringe jacket from Your Revolving Closet and thought I could pair it with the joggers.
I added a leopard cardigan as a shirt but wore a t-shirt under it so I didn’t have to wash it.
Then I added in my Jambu sneakers from years ago. My earrings are gold hoops and I wore a pair of lilac toppers on my Pair glasses.
Wednesday
This outfit is an example of dichotomy if you look at brands. The sweatshirt dress is from Old Navy, the boots are Stuart Weitzman (usually $200 and I found them thrifting), and the topper is from my favorite local boutique and very unique.
I was very glad to have this gold open-weave topper because the dress was a tad tight around my midsection. It’s one of those fun items that add a lot of sass to any solid-colored dress to make it perfect for the holidays.
Insider tip: There might be more of these at the boutique…just reach out to her on FB or email her, at justbeyoutiful21@yahoo.com, and make sure to use my discount, Jtouch15.
I also had an “aha” moment with my ponytail. I’ve always worn it behind my head as a ponytail until I saw a video of someone using it as their bun on top of their head. Of course, I thought!!
See, even I get into ruts with my outfits and such.
And I wore my shoulder-scraping earrings made by my friend, Judy.
Thursday
I wanted to wear this fringe maxi skirt as a dress but the slit was way TOO high. So I tried 2 different skirts under it…which is your favorite?
Now I’m leaning towards the tulle one, but at first, I was worried it was too much (how could I say that? LOL).
Anyway, I posted this outfit on TikTok and received a bunch of comments that it was the Moana vibe. I had to Google Moana and it’s an animated movie.
I took the silky button down and buttoned a lower button behind my head. I show how it’s done on TikTok.
Friday
This outfit was put together for our dog training class which was cancelled at the last minute.
It all started with the leather oversized blazer from Your Revolving Closet. I wasn’t sure how I wanted to style it, so I wore a lightweight sweater that had the same boxy silhouette under it (found for $1 this summer).
Since the top 2 pieces were oversized and boxy, I decided to wear them with shorts. These denim shorts used to be jeans that I cut off.
With the cooler temperatures, I added fishnet stockings (brown) and wore these silver cowboy ankle boots. Originally I tried a pair of darker brown boots, but I felt like the outfit needed lighter footwear.
And, of course, I needed a pop of color so I wore a bright pink headband.
It’s hard to see but I intentionally wore 2 different earrings. One long on the opposite side of the headband tie and one shorter so as not to compete with the headband tie.
Thank you
